Biography

21367.png VERITY

alongside briseis, panacea, and embrion

• There are 4 adolescent heirs blistering at Sallondon's claws, expected to take upon his machine when he finally dies, one day. This feat, fashioned especially for the not faint-hearted, was hung upon these poor worthless dragonet's shoulders the moment they hatched; they were dunked in lava and from the moment she emerged, it was made known that Verity was a powerful dragon, unscathed by the magma flowing through her scales. It was then known that Verity was going to be Sallondon's most secretive and dangerous weapon; how lucky was he, to come across a screaming Banescale hatchling. Unlike the others she's received specialized training, being told tales of the warriors of her kind, the reverence she so naturally held. And Verity mindlessly followed it all, but at the end of the day... she didn't quite feel like a violent beast destined for greatness, rather she felt like a blithering worm; not one aspect of her posture suggests confidence, as she walks with her wings pinned close to her and her head carefully ducked and looking down timidly at other dragons.

• Sallondon holds all pride in her, obviously choosing her as a favorite of the heirs thus giving her special treatment, such as more food, more luxurious living chambers. The reason is unclear, as he doesn't seem to acknowledge the way she droops or her constant hesitation— Verity isn't exactly pathetic, per se, but she is not inclined to hurt any dragon in any way, which is par for the course in what she's made to inherit. Unfortunately, she's fallen extensively to Sallondon's manipulation, taking all of his words and philosophies to heart, and following anything he wishes. This has led her to become detached; Verity realizes she's hurting other dragons but has lost most of her ability to feel guilt, wholehearted believing it when Sallondon says don't worry, they won't be too upset about it. She's often instructed to lend a talon in killing dragons that need to be killed due to the sheer strength at her age, and when told to do something by Sallondon, she will, no matter how diabolical. But that's only because she's a follower, a very confused one at that

• Hidden from the world(wait until they see he's got a BANESCALE under wraps), Verity generally keeps to herself, seldom speaking to her peers in fear of both them and what she could do to them. She's not exactly friendly nor is she exactly mean, more shy and socially awkward than anything else. Not quite apathetic nor particularly caring, Verity takes in the world around her at face value, not thinking beyond the smog-choked caves that have become her home. Sallondon has genuinely filled her head with the rhetoric that she is a wonderful killing machine, and she's not quite sure whether she should see her fellow heirs as friends or not; she almost pities them, since they seem to be so much unhappier than her. Outside of anything she has never had an identity, and doesn't exactly seem to be a promising leader; in the battle of death the four of them will inevitably fight, she could very much kill all of the other heirs with a few swift kicks of her razor sharp back claws, but then what...?
