When Lenore broke her triad bond with Lakeisha and Gowan, Helia was chosen to take her place. Being an utterly dedicated, devoted student and follower of Lakeisha’s, Helia was ecstatic—and was crushed when she was eventually replaced by Lakeisha’s son Andor. Although she’d never complain or protest the decision, it’s left her equal parts bitter and desperate to regain her place. Trying to get back into Lakeisha’s favor, she’s become even more subservient, obeying every directive as exactly as possible, without any doubt or question. (She doesn't realize that her lack of personal initiative is actually part of why Lakeisha replaced her—although she’s a competent and useful assistant, she wasn’t bringing anything new to the work.)

In an effort to link herself more closely to Lakeisha (and to escape her new triad, where she felt painfully out of place), she nested with another of Lakeisha’s sons, Liast, even though she disliked him. She’s now in a triad with her two daughters, Kituvor and Laiaka, and is exceedingly proud whenever Lakeisha shows any interest in them. This may not work out as well as she’d hoped, however, as both girls are strong willed and independent, and their personalities tend to overwhelm hers, leaving her still in the shadows. For the time being, though, she holds onto that tenuous family link with her beloved master while she keeps her head down and serves obediently, waiting to be recognized.
