BeeBee wandered around the market on the outskirts of the Labyrinth, searching for the next step in his life-path. He drifted aimlessly from stall to shop, but he just couldn't shake the boredom. As he bought a cup of vanilla tea and rested near a weapons stall, a stately Wildclaw stalked by. The dignified stranger was obviously exhausted and constantly muttered under his breath, as if carrying on an argument. Intrigued, BeeBee followed the stranger from the marketplace and into the dense woods that make the Viridian Labyrinth so dangerous. For a mile, the Wildclaw never noticed the dragon behind him, and when he did, he stood still and just...deflated.

"What do you want, stranger?" he asked.

BeeBee thought about his answer. Should he flatter the drake and hope for a job? Or threaten him to impress the Wildclaw with his bravery? But in the end, BeeBee chose honesty and simply said, "I don't know what I want."

The Wildclaw turned and finally looked at his new shadow, sized him up, and stepped to his side. A thorough examination told gargoyle that this young warrior was strong and healthy. Most importantly, he wasn't related to gargoyle! But his scent was familiar and when the Wildclaw remembered who the scent was from, the exhaustion left his face and was replaced with a wide smile.

"You're one of Vitali's brood," he said as he nudged BeeBee and urged him to follow. "We can always use a capable warrior in our weird little corner of the world."

They chatted as they walked and when they came to soggy marshland, BeeBee felt a strange tingle flow through his body. His mother had explained how every Guardian took on a place or being to protect, but he never gave it any thought until he saw the swampy Clan lands that were his new home - the home that had always called to him.

Sometimes he still sits with gargoyle, his friend. And when he does, they are silent and still. Silence and stillness are what gargoyle craves in the midst of the tumultuous breeding clan.
