A brilliant young Lightning-born dragon, Chadwick came to Home as a hatchling and has been getting himself into trouble ever since. Extremely interested in paranormal investigation, he has a deep interest and love for ghosts, cryptids, and everything weird. He knows more about everything that goes bump in the night than most dragons would ever care to learn. Chadwick has achieved some of the highest test scores ever recorded from any of Home's residents, an accomplishment he is certainly the type to brag about. Often seeming egotistical and self-absorbed, Chadwick is actually a dragon who is naturally very slow to trust, often compensating for a poor self-image with the facade of an exaggerated ego. When he knows another dragon well enough to let it down, though, he's known for being the very friendly and enthusiastic sort. Brilliant, introverted, and often eager to talk about his research, Chadwick is a gifted magician and researcher. It's well-understood around Home that, if he could only manage to stop breaking curfew and rebelling against rules he doesn't agree with, he would be among the most well-respected dragons at Home. As it is, he is often entrusted with a great deal of responsibility, helping out around his Hall and tutoring new magic and history students, although he still does often receive a few tongue-lashings from professors and other staff members. Often restless and unable to let go of a mystery, Chadwick is persistent, a bit reckless, and often demonstrates a lack of regard for his own safety. He can seem a bit gullible, with all his talk of monsters and creatures roaming about, until you learn of his firm policy never to believe in anything until he sees it with his own eyes (a fact that makes his stories about hiding out in a ruin deep in the Hewn City waiting for a ghost to pass by a bit more intense). He has a famous sweet tooth and is very well-known for his steadfast fairness, always willing to speak out whenever he feels someone is being treated unfairly, whether he knows them or not. Despite his head-butting with Home's staff, Chadwick is very close with the other dragons and professors in his Hall, and his proficiency in magic was inspired in no small part by his desire to help keep his home safe.

Chadwick is an English habitational name. It may mean 'from the warrior's village' or, more literally, 'from the village of Chad.'
