A bright young Shadow-born cursebreaker, Armoni grew up at Home and, after he graduated, continues to live here while working as a cursebreaker and historian. Extremely magically gifted, everyone guesses he probably would have been sorted into Jǫtunheimr instead of Helheim if only he had ever been able to follow the rules and keep his nose clean. Very sickly at birth, it was uncertain if he was going to live to see adulthood, and even as an adult he remains very small and prone to illness. Spending most of his hatchling days cooped up inside with a pile of books fostered within him a deep love for mysteries and a curiosity about the unknown. Specializing in creating and dispelling illusions, Armoni is brilliant at getting rid of curses but is also known around his Hall for being a fair hand with hexes and jinxes himself, making it unwise to get on his bad side. Fortunately, getting on Armoni's bad side is a very difficult thing to do.

Clever, curious, and with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Armoni is always hunting for a new mystery to solve. A friendly and kindhearted soul, he is most often pleasant to be around and always happy to chat with anyone. He is very close with most other dragons in his Hall and has plenty of friends in other Halls, being the type of dragon who makes friends very easily. Even when compared to Home's professors, most of whom turn out new research papers and studies on a regular basis, Armoni is one of Home's most prolific researchers and writers. This is simply because it seems like he cannot go one minute without some kind of mystery to solve - the other dragons in his Hall suppose he'd probably explode if he didn't have some new mystery to investigate or a new set of ruins to poke around. Often friendly and amiable, he is generous with his time and can often be coaxed into guest-lecturing on illusions for Home's younger magicians. It is generally understood around Home that Armoni will probably be offered an assistant professor position once he's gotten a bit older and mellowed out a bit, which makes sense, because despite his good nature, he's not currently the best role model for Home's younger dragons. Although he knows he's always been on the sickly side, he tends to overwork himself to the point of absolute exhaustion, and he's always been a bit too reckless when it comes to putting himself directly into harm's way. It often seems like, when Armoni thinks he's found something worth looking into, he simply cannot think about anything else until he's figured it out.

Behind the Name...

Armoni (תרמני) is an Aramaic name, possibly meaning 'cursed one.' In the extra-canonical Book of Enoch, Armoni was the eleventh of the twenty leaders of a group of 200 fallen angels known as the Watchers.
