"You’re strong now. Just like you were always meant to be."

Vala is one of Citadel's , strongest fighters that he has, and has found herself at least in a good position of living in the Colony given her fighting ability. But she makes it well known that she has little care for what happens to Citadel or his Colony- it could all burn and she wouldn't shed a tear.

While having the capability of being able to escape with her strength alone, Vala chooses to stay in the Colony to look after the poor souls tormented by Citadel's higher ups. She finds herself taking place as a mother to those who need it, like Lubo and other emotionally vulnerable dragons, or puts herself in the position of being a stable mental support for those who need it. Vala knows, however, despite her power- she obviously isn't enough to take out Citadel's chain of command and himself, so despite how much she wishes she could change how the Colony works... She knows she can't.

She chooses to be stuck within the walls of the Colony to help support those who emotionally and mentally need someone in their lives. It's not the life she could have being outside the walls built off the pain and suffering of others, but it's the life she chooses to protect those who need it.
