He didn't know what Zach wanted to tell him- let alone make something so secretive. So personal, he never liked to share on a personal level, and really neither did Lubo. Zach had them meet late in the night, away from guards, Lubo didn't know why he put so much trust in him to not get slaughtered, but he did. "What's this about, then?" He questioned, Zach alarmingly silent at first. Though, he was always pretty silent, Lubo had laughed to himself but didn't press. He let him have his silence, until he it all was spoken- what he thought of the Colony, opinions, personal thoughts... All of it. Lubo didn't get why he trusted him so much either- what was this accomplishing? "What spurred this on, Zach? You sound ready to leave." Lubo joked, but he received answer- the harpy's face giving it all away. He was ready to leave. "You're crazy." Lubo started, letting out more worry in his voice than he meant to. Lubo gave a bit of an irritated huff as Zach didn't look at him, didn't speak further, and he repeated his statement softly, calling Zach crazy, hating how much worry he was letting show. No one left the colony alive. What made Zach think he could? But despite all his worries, Lubo didn't tell anyone what Zach had told him. Lubo all but silently allowed plans to grow in his friend's head until his eventual escape- Citadel was furious, and Lubo knew he would be slaughtered for not bringing this to their leader's attention. But he didn't. Why? Why was he protecting Zach? He was a deserter, a traitor to the colony. Lubo should hope he's dying in a ditch somewhere. But... He wasn't. Lubo partly hoped inside that the harpy was still alive out there. Why? Why? Lubo didn't understand why he cared so much... And he doesn't think he ever will.

Lubo came from a family of coatls who chose to lurk in the darks of a cave that went deep into the earth of Sornieth. They sold plenty of valuable metals and ores to dragons willing to pay the right price. And when the word spread out too far, the Colony was sure to arrive. The older coatls of the city tried to merely offer up the younger hatchlings to fend off the Colony wanting to take their ores and money, but that wasn't what they wanted, nor enough to get them to leave. Lubo found himself being taken away while watching money and valuables be taken by his friends and family.

He couldn't begin to feel sorry for them, knowing that they were willing to send him away to protect themselves and their wealth.

Growing up in the Colony was as terrible as it sounded, especially with the leadership of Citadel being a cruel and harsh one. Lubo wanted to stay alone, avoid feeling for anyone here- how could he guarantee to himself that he wouldn't be hurt again by people who claimed they loved him? But he found himself slowly betraying those words as he met and got to know Zach. The skydancer told him many stories about his home in Harpy's roost- it sounded like a beautiful place compared to the dark cave where Lubo had come from. And as the years went by in the Colony, Lubo and Zach became close friends who depended on each other and shared their dreams and ideals with. Lubo found himself caring for Zach deeper than that, a love he had never felt before, and before he could even admit those feelings... Things changed.

The two had made plans together to escape all the time, but it was nothing ever set in motion. But one day- it was going to be real. Zach was motivated, and Lubo found himself yearning for freedom as well. But their escape attempt was... A disaster. Zach had been caught in the middle of his escape being ratted out by Darius, something Lubo had no idea was even occurring as he was simply packing up his bags to escape with Zach as they had agreed upon in doing in the night. But when Lubo went to meet up with Zach... He was gone. Nothing but feathers left where they were going to meet. He didn't know what happened to Zach- but he was never told, and was seemingly found out to be apart of Zach's schemes as he had received punishment for planning to escape. Now within the Colony, Lubo tends to stick alone to himself, thought he has others that he is close with- Dahaki, who was like an older brother to him, Vala who was a kind but scary ridgeback if you crossed her, and Creed, a doctor who was a bit unethical, and afraid of losing his position in the Colony if Flynn gained the rights to also be the residential doctor. Lubo is now rather tormented by many for being seen as a coward and a traitor for wanting to flee from the will of the Colony- and those who weren't cruel and did not feel this way, were people Lubo secluded himself from. He knew now that the only place for him now was to be alone, because nothing hurt worse than forming love that was eventually going to leave you. You only had yourself to look out for in this world, and Lubo wasn't going to make that mistake a third time, even if whatever happened to Zach was an accident... Lubo felt left alone.
