Weyland
The Swimmer

"I can't swim myself - er, don't tell anyone - but Weyland can swim as good as any Maren!"

Sun! Surf! Sand! Weyland is a gentle young Gaoler hatchling with an affinity for water. He is perhaps the softest and kindest dragon in Outpost Toast and all the residents adore him. On sunny days, he enjoys building sand castles and eating honey. He is especially fond of the beach, and the other beach lovers readily welcome him to take part in their activities. He hasn't quite got the hang of volleyball yet but nothing can dash that pure delight on his face. He's just happy to join in!
Weyland doesn't really have parents. Instead, all the residents are his unofficial guardians. He is closest to Kuro however; it was the Banescale that built a sand pit in the outpost for Weyland. Despite his ancestral background, the Gaoler hatchling has never seen snow.

Similar to the other hatchlings at the outpost, Weyland takes training lessons with Glory. He is quite clumsy on land and uncoordinated. In the water, however, is a different story. There he is swift and agile. He is able to hold his breath for far longer than most dragons. Most competitions involving water end with him as the champion.

It is common knowledge that Weyland has epilepsy. His familiar, a Jelly Drone called Rex, was modified by Rhys and is equipped with the appropriate medical responses. It is also capable of warning nearby dragons, calling them to help. Atrophy, the resident doctor, is rather fond of the Gaoler, and often gives him sweet honey snacks during his regular check-ups.
