Despite being the younger brother, Collin comes across as more mature and settled than Tik. Although both are cheerful goofballs, Collin also has a thoughtful side, and he’s surprisingly perceptive and insightful when it comes to others’ feelings. When meeting new dragons, he’s the one of the pair who stands back slightly, getting a feel for what they’re like. He’s rarely wrong.

Collin and Tik are both generalists in the lair, which means that while their main job is hunting and scavenging, they're often given any unspecified tasks that crop up. For instance, they might do some scouting with Katchiara, or dig up old treasure, or lug machinery down the lair’s tunnels. Collin’s the stronger of the two, and he often teases Tik for being “weak.” Tik retaliates by jokingly insisting that Collin do all the heavy lifting. It’s all in good fun—they’re deeply devoted to each other, and rare misunderstandings and hurt feelings are always resolved quickly.

Like Tik, Collin near-worships Katchiara and is proud to be one of her “boys.” Their daughter Paladin is as much a wonder to him as Sophre is to Tik (although he feels a little bad that Sophre is so small and awkward and slow, while Paladin is a warrior-hero like something out of one of Faeatia’s stories). He gets along well with most of the dragons in the lair, although he’s intensely intimidated by Lakeisha. Gowan’s all right, though, so Collin sort of pretends that he’s the one in charge of everything.
