My first fully gened Gen 1! (I did it all myself, too!)
Thank you, shadesofchaos, for helping me with Astraye :D
Also the first dragon I leveled to 25, statted, and stoned myself!
This dragon is never leaving my lair
~has a device that he crafted himself along with a few other dragons from Cryshollow that links to points in the Mire/coli venues and that can open a portal that allows him to go straight to said venues. solani also contributed to this, integrating some of his sonic speediness into the device, which basically creates a time bubble around Astraye and allows the traveltime to be a literal blink of an eye
~Spectroscope skin result of a powerful Enamor attack on a late-night Mire run, from a psywurm that ambushed him after he saved Oanju. Astraye now has a permanent glow/shine about him, and that light reflects seemingly hundreds of little flecks of rainbow across his scales. He wears his amber shades everywhere he goes, as the Enamor affected his vision too - everything he sees is several shades brighter without the shades.
~He ripped his adjucator overcoat from the grasp of an all-seeing eye while battling at the Forbidden Portals, nearly getting strangled with the eyeball's tentacles in the process.
~He got his corn snake while traveling through Harpy's Roost. The little snake (who Astraye named Popcorn - a valiant, battle worthy name of course) was being dived at and attacked by a various assortment of vicious birds, for no apparent reason. Astraye shooed the birds angrily away, and when they started to attack him, he grimly ended their lives. He then picks up the snake, who curls happily around his neck - and now they're friends forever!
Popcorn likes to curl on Astraye's head or neck and hiss menacingly at enemies the spiral is battling, snapping his fangs and generally looking like a terrifying but cute danger noodle.
~Trained by Spark and Epidemia, the original two fighters of the Seer Clan, Astraye is the most formidable fighter of the Seers. His skill surpasses that of most dragons, and his passion for battle burns greatly. He loves the heat of battle, the feel of danger looming, and the exhilaration of twisting and turning about his enemy, landing blows and dodging attacks.
~In love with Oanju; though the difference in their personalities is quite stark (Oanju is quiet, skittish, motherly, kind to everyone she meets, and loves to read, while Astraye is passionate, loves fighting, is irritable at times, and can be stiff and quite unfriendly to dragons he does not know.)
However, their differences seem to balance one another out. Oanju and Astraye also share the fact that they both have no parents. Astraye also, remarkably, takes off his shades to look at Oanju, sparingly. She's the only dragon he does this for, and he has told her that the light she shines with is too beautiful for him to dim.
~Astraye was brought in by Chiquora, keeper of Darkwood. He was a tiny, terrified, and shockingly fragile hatchling when he ws first introduced the the Seer Clan.
--I looked down at Gilded grimly. His golden-black wings flashed as he hovered, staring with his glowing eyes straight at the overgrown, filthy clan entrance. His jaw was set, and though it was nearly impossible to read any expression in the shining depths of his face, I could tell there was anger there. And determination.
I slid my talons down the hilt of my katana. Gripping it so tightly the bones of my knuckles pressed against my skin, I drew the blade. It made a bright, ringing, sharp sound; it echoed through the marsh, not unlike the screeching call of a vulture, swooping hungrily over the dead.
It sounded dangerous.
The anger I had tried so hard to contain around my clanmates once more exploded into my mind. The colors around me pulsed brightly, and it almost seemed as if everything fell under a veil of red. They had stolen her. My love, the one I cared so deeply for. The one who carried my children.
Popcorn tensed around my neck, squeezing slightly in a gesture I could tell was both to comfort me and to prepare himself for the upcoming battle. The end of his tail vibrated in a mock-rattle against my scales, and a low hiss emanated from his open mouth.
With an angry growl deepening my voice, turned back to Gilded.
"Are you ready?" I asked simply.
The small veilspun's eyes pulsed even brighter, and his claws started to glow. Little veins and flecks of light pulsed under his scales as he harnessed his power of fire. When he spoke, his voice crackled like a flame.
"I am ready. We shall get her back, Astraye."
