BELOW IS A WIP!

I blinked up at the beautiful, tiny, glowing face, and gasped.
Lights swirled around my the corners of my vision. The bright golden swathes of pure energy shifted entrancingly in my peripherals. My eyes swam as my mind registered the sensations pouring through my body - the brush of silk and mane against my scales, the caress of cold cave air, the rough feeling of the cave floor digging into my side. It was all shocking, really. Shocking not because of the actual sensations, but shocking just because I was actually feeling something. Shocking because, if I was not mistaken, I had been dead not just five minutes ago.

My sight started to clear. I was able to make out the stone ceiling of the main Seer cave, the dangling crystals of the tiered chandelier dear Vivoria had insisted on (much to Mantle's albeit terrified chagrin,) and the smooth slope of the sparsely decorated walls. The light at the edges of my sight faded, but just slightly. The swirling lights were still there, hovering, seemingly waiting for something. But I wasn't focused on those things, not really. The beautiful face in front of me had captured my attention.

She was a veilspun, like me. Her deep golden eyes were large and shining in her face, the kindness, compassion, and worry beaming through like beacons in a dark night. Her mane was a soft black, but sparkled throughout were brillant flecks of pure silvery-white. It reminded me quite distinctly of moonlight.

Her delicate snout was also dark, and laced with lines and patterns of that beautiful silver-white. My eyes traveled across her head, past her flowing mane, her ears, her neck, all flecked and patterned with the bewildering, shimmering veins of moonlight. I had never seen anything like it before in my life.

She exhaled lightly, and my eyes shot back up to meet with hers again. They were the most wondrous gold, such a contrast to the brilliant, shocking sharpness of her patterning. I felt almost as if I could slowly fall into them, melt in their depths, warm and content, never to want for anything again. For some inexplicable reason, I felt as if I had known her forever, though I had never laid eyes on her before in my life.

I watched those eyes as they crinkled slightly at the corners, and the veilspun tipped her head, studying me with concern. My gaze was locked on hers, all of my attention focused on her, trying to puzzle out who she was, so I was understandably startled when a loud, impolite, very familiar voice broke the heavy silence.
"Well then. That seems to have worked. Seem's you're still alive and kicking. Off I go."
I let my head fall back, eyes squinting as I tried to remember again where I was. Awake... alive... right. Seer cave. I inhaled deeply, fresh air filling my lungs, and looked up again at the veilspun. For the first time, I realized rather embarassingly that she was perched right on top of my side. I gulped, eyeing her, and with a sudden and also quite embarassed realization, she quickly scampered off of me and stopped a few feet away, studying her talons with rather intense interest.
I had nearly forgotten about the voice again, and was about to step toward the mysterious veilspun, but was jerked back to reality when another voice smoothly and eloquently disturbed the silence.
"Spiritcatcher. Get your rotten, no-good, ill-raised, short-tailed, rat-eaten behind back here before I drag it."
A squeak echoed across the room, presumably from Mantle, as he winced from the many fearfully disgusting and contagious and dangerous and generally terrifying images her words conjured up in his mind. A growl from Spiritcatcher followed, which raised in volume as Pastwatcher let out an amused chuckle. A sigh joined the noise as Echoa shook her head, her glittering golden hide shifting as she leaned her head back, exasperated. Echoa? Exasperated? I was positively shocked. Her main emotions were peaceful, serene, and expressionless. If Echoa showed even a tiny, miniscule, small hint of slightly negative emotion, it was the equivalent of a normal dragon screaming until their lungs gave out and snapping violently and without restraint at the necks of every creature within the near vincinity.

sir, I bought you for 500g, way back when I started FR, and some person donated me 1kg. I was clueless. I probably should have asked for a reduction in price, or grinded treasure.
I love you anyway <3

-quiet
-caring
-mysterious
-has a gift of sight - ever since Ibis healed his wounded eyes with the power of her moonlight gift, his eyes give off a fiery glow and he is able to see - sometimes - the intentions and emotions of dragons. When Ibis healed him, it also unlocked a power over fire; he can conjure and manipulate flame. Whenever he uses his powers, his eyes pulse brighter, and little veins and patterns of molten orange and gold glow under his skin.

-Ibis' mate (they are devoted to one another ever since they met when Ibis fell through the tunnel portal, into the Seer lair, and healed Gilded's eyes with her newfound abilities)
-Luna, Bloodmoon, and Esmeray are the only three children out of nine to survive; the other six were stolen and exalted. Gilded, against Ibis's wishes (this is their only ongoing argument) decided never to have children again to prevent the grief that may come with his children being exalted.

-likes fish. NOT as food, mind you, as pets. Especially betas.
-he can also talk with fish, ALSO especially betas. this will be helpful in a future journey where Gilded, Astraye, Oanju, and Ibis are out scavenging and encounter a drowning dragon. However, Gilded and Ibis are too small to carry the dragon up out of the water by himself; Astraye is terrified of water, and Oanju can't swim, so Gilded talks with the fish and they swarm under the drowning dragon, lifting him up to the surface of the water where Oanju and Astraye are hovering. They pick him up and bring him to shore. (the dragon is Fantocha the nearly-mind-wiped, mute sock puppet?)
