"And now was acknowledged the presence of the Red Death. He had come like a thief in the night. And one by one dropped the revellers in the blood-bedewed halls of their revel, and died each in the despairing posture of his fall..."

As we all know, The Plaguebringer loathes the undead. Despite, or perhaps because of this, millions of plaguelings practice necromancy. What is a god to do? Well, if you’re The Filthy One, you corrupt the newly-migrating Gaolers and adapt them until they’re perfect for withstanding the Wasteland and keeping pesky necromancers at bay. When threats and pestilence don’t work, a hulking dragon modeled after the terrifying Graveyard Guardian of old just might do the trick. Meet Khachkar, first of the Graveyard Gaolers.

Most Graveyard Gaolers interpret The Plaguebringer’s disdain for Emperors as extending to all undead, and seek to cull, contain, and prevent more undead from being formed. They take their job very seriously, and many genuinely believe that the existence of the undead is a blight upon the world.

Khachkar genuinely believes The Plaguebringer speaks to her, gave her a purpose; to guard the bones of the dead so that the cycle of life and death will not be blasphemed, broken, perverted. Khachkar holds a deep reverence and comfort in the rituals of death and mourning, and loves waking up in the morning and smelling the fresh graveyard air. She is fascinated by grave markers and stones, the signs that someone once existed, once breathed, and will stare for hours at the headstones in her little plot. To her, the rotting stink of graveyard air is a sign that all is as it should be.

Currently working with Maw, Gullet, Marrow, Keeper, and Ismene to control an undead outbreak, albeit through clenched teeth. Has Abattoir and Ischeyka working under her as a punitive assignment.
