Bringer of Lies, Keeper of Secrets

SUMMARY

Thornsight- the third OMEN. Slipping between the cracks of reality and dreams, Thornsight returned to Sorneith at the bidding of the Shadowbinder. Leaving behind the court of shadow at the Forum of the Obscured Crescent, she has come to confirm what the other ancients have shown- the reappearance of old breeds is not merely some petty squabble between deities, but the true end of ages. Thornsight is not interested in urging the Rivensong to follow the doctrines of her flight. She is only interested in furthering her own goals, which pleases the Shadowbinder just fine.

Most dragons in the Rivensong barely know of Thornsight's existence. Fewer still have even met her. Instead they know her only as a collection of rumors and stories, spread both by herself and others. Those that have met her know that while she always knows the truth, learning it from her is almost impossible. Thornsight collects secrets from the shadows at night, and spins them into lies from her sanctuary during the day. Even Struve confronting her has not stopped her. Thornsight does as she pleases.

Thornsight teaches the new generation the ancient ways of lies and secrets- the third harbinger of the end.

HISTORY

Created from the darkness of the Shadowbinder herself, Thornsight grew up surrounded by the other veilspuns she was born alongside. As thorny as the brambles which made their home, she spent her time playing games and riddles with the other veils. At night, they slowly crept out into the wider world, and during the day retreated to the dark shadows of their home. Over time they reached out further, encouraged by their creator to sow chaos.

Surrounded by big, colorful dragons and part of a larger world, Thornsight delighted in living in secret alongside them. Spending the days sleeping in bags or folded in amongst clothing, she quickly learned the secrets of many dragons. During the nights she would steal food and trinkets, taking great joy in the conflict she created among the others. On the rare occasions she was caught, she would lie or make deals to get out of her situation- or cast complex illusions and leave the individual entranced.

As she grew more powerful, Thornsight grew bored of her small games, and turned her eyes to bigger things. She made deadly pacts with the dragons who sought her out, stealing power and magic from them. She delighted in making deadly illusions, turning close friends against one another. Each day she gained more power, grew more skillful with her lies, and grew her hoard of secrets. She was at the height of her power- and then she was called home once more to serve the Shadowbinder.

Thornsight quickly grew quite bored with being sent home, the most restless of all her siblings. She spent her time trying to break through the Shadowbinder's wards, but even she could not escape. When the time finally came and they weakened, Thornsight was the first to slip through and out into the wider world. Now, she's eager to begin her work once again, and who better to start with than the powerful seer of Clan Rivensong?
