Biography
Darkling was returning home from his outing with Bell and Charlene, the sun was low in the sky. His brother Silence spotted him as he headed to the hidden entrance of the hive, and couldn't help but stop him.
"Hey, where did you get all those flowers?"
Darkling turned to Silence, reaching up with a hand to touch the lei around his neck.
"My new friend Bell grows them in her garden," he said happily. "She and her friend Charlene made these for me today... what do you think?"
"They're lovely," his brother said as he approached, gently reaching out to touch the garland on his wings.
"Charlene says they accent the blue in my skin." He turned around slowly, allowing the setting sun to hit the iridescent shimmer of his smooth hide.
"Where are Bell and Charlene from?" asked Silence. "Are they natives?"
"They are. They're both from the clan that Mother led here from the dark forest."
"Do they know....?"
His brother's statement was in regard to their alien origin.
"I haven't told them yet," said Darkling, his voice a little nervous. "I don't want to frighten them... they are very nice dragons and I want to get to know them a little better first. Don't get me wrong, I plan on telling them... but the time doesn't feel right yet."
Silence stepped forward and pressed his cheek against his brother's, a gentle gesture the odd black dragons used to comfort one another.
"I trust your instincts," said Silence. "It's one thing we have that we can always depend on."
