Biography
ACTAEON bounty hunter ruthless | ambitious | dead |
About There's not much to say about Actaeon's current life, since he's not alive anymore. He met his end under his brother's spear, after threatening his adopted daughter. His bones now lie in a deep thicket in the Tangled Wood, being buried by leaves and brambles.

Story
The hunt runs in Actaeon's blood. As a child living with his older brother, Artemus, in the Viridian Labyrinth, he quickly learned how to stalk and kill prey. As he grew, so did his skill, and he began to seek bigger and bigger prey, with no respect for the balance of nature. Actaeon and Artemus fought over Actaeon's careless hunting often, and Actaeon eventually had enough, running away from the Labyrinth and his older brother. Actaeon quickly joined up with Sornieth's criminal underworld after leaving his home, making a name for himself as a dragon who would go to any lengths to retrieve a quarry. He was paid handsomely for his services, but he would only hunt dragons for the highest sums. At least, until he discovered that hunting an intelligent being was a much bigger thrill than tracking down an animal. After that, he became the most ruthless bounty hunter Sornieth's criminals had ever known, tracking down creatures, Beastclans, and dragons with nothing but his claws and teeth. Many horrifying rumors began to swirl around him.
Actaeon formed his own gang, full of hunters like himself, and called it the Queen's Huntsmen, a homage to his first job tracking down a thieving servant for a Light queen. His second-in-command was a Wildclaw named Leon, who posed as his secretary, but was just as ruthless as his boss. The two often took assignments side-by-side, though the prey didn't come out in one piece very often.
One day, an underground group of scientists known for performing magical experiments on unwilling subjects, came to Actaeon with a job: hunt down a cream-colored Pearlcatcher, who had escaped their lab. They warned him that she was skilled in Nature magic, and would be hiding in the deepest forests. Actaeon grinned and accepted the challenge, setting off alone on the trail. She was crafty, and evaded him for months, and Actaeon began to get frustrated. No prey had ever escaped his claws, and it wasn't about to start now. Actaeon tracked the Pearlcatcher to a small town in the Tangled Wood. He intimidated the local innkeeper into telling him if the Pearlcatcher came through, then began to lurk in the forest outside of town. One night, as he came in to get the day's information from the innkeep, someone was waiting for him: his older brother, Artemus, looking a little worse for wear and wielding a shining spear. Actaeon could smell the Pearlcatcher on Artemus' hide, and attacked, intending to wring any information out of his brother before killing him.
