Details

• Alavaside, like many tundras, suffers from memory loss. To overcome this, he carries a collection of strong-smelling herbs and flowers to associate with places and dragons.

• Alavaside and Ablaze share a love for knowledge and exploration, and often compare notes they've taken on locations and wildlife.

• Anthea instilled a love of reading early on in Alavaside's development. He adores bedtime stories and will often fall asleep at the clan library.

Learning to Remember

A young Alavaside furrowed his brow and focused intensely on the dragon sitting before him. The dragon, a Wildlclaw, had given off an aura of vague familiarity but Alavaslide struggled to place the face, much to Anthea's disappointment. His adopted mother valued family and relationships at utmost importance and was sad to see Alavaside didn't recognize the dragon.

"I'm sorry." He told the Wildclaw. "I mean no offense, but I just cannot recall your name, or how I know you." Anthea came up behind Alavaside and placed a hand on his back. She combed her talons through his tangled fur and tossed the furballs to the side of the den.

"His name is Osiris, my child." The Mirror informed him. "He is a warrior and leaves to train soldiers to aid in Flamecaller's war. He'd been gone for months, but he is returned to celebrate Flameforgers' with his family."

Anthea handed him a bright purple herb with several serrated leaves surrounding the blossoms.
"Take a smell, and look at Osiris." She instructed. "Associate the smell with him, and with your excellent nose you'll never forget him as long as you keep this plant by you."

She handed him a bag with many pockets, each filled with herbs and flowers, rocks and feathers. All sorts of wonderful colors and smells each carefully preserved in jars and packets to keep their smell.

"Start to associate smells and memories. When you want to remember something, get a new smell. Carry books and write, and please please, continue to read often. You have a difficulty with memory, and it will make relationships and other things more difficult, But this little hurdle will never stop you. You can do everything anyone else can, you just have to work a little harder. And by Flamecaller's name, I'll help you through every difficulty and every challenge you might face so maybe you won't have to work as hard." The mirror lovingly stroked the little tundra, wrapping her arms around him.
