Biography
CHAAVA
Mire Flyer
Mire Flyer
|
Born into a warrior's family, Chaava knew from the day she broke free of her shell that she would have a large set of wings to grow into. It didn't bother her that her brother fell into the position faster than she had; Icarus had always been eager to please, and Chaava knew that she had the time. She would watch her mother and father, see the way that they fought and the areas in which they excelled, and wait. And see. And learn where she would be the most useful. Icarus had jumped into the workshop, fighting with golems and mechanical beasts of all kinds, fighting to the ends of his strength alongside some of the strongest fighters their clan had known. Chaava watched with interest, but knew she could be better. Her mother favored the cliffs of the Harpy's Roost, and her father the Boreal Woods. Each with their own skills and strengths, but neither spoke to Chaava. When she'd told Ameretat what she'd been planning on doing, the guardian had laughed and wished the young Imperial well on her own version of the Quest. Chaava had ducked her head, hoping she hadn't offended her clan leader--but the gentle smile Mere had given her assured Chaava that she hadn't done anything of the sort. It had been at the end of a long night that Addy had come back from the fields, tired and sore, dragging the few trinkets she'd gathered along with her, that Chaava had asked where she had been. "The Mire?" It wasn't as familiar a name as so many others. "Were you training?" Addy tilted her head back and forth. "In a way. I think they were testing my patience more than I was testing their skill. But they'll serve Tidelord all the same." The fellow Imperial tilted her head. "Why? Still looking for somewhere to fight?" "Thinking about it. I don't think any of my other family members fight there." "No, I'd imagine not. Hmm...you were born when they still lived on the Isle, so the Arcanist's luck might still be with you. Come with me next time, and you can see how you like it." And in the swamps of the Mire, Chaava found where she truly belonged. Addy was more than happy to turn over that realm of training to the younger Imperial, and Chaava had a knack for knocking down the psywurms and other beastclan outsiders she found there faster than the others. She could fly through the trees and shrubs, wreaking havoc as she want. This was where she could shine. And the first night she brought home a troop of trainees, ready to meet Tidelord the next morning, she knew from the looks on her parents' faces that they were proud of her. And that was the best part of it all. |
