Gen

On June 4, 2017, the owner of the Seeker Clan listed Gen on the Auction House for fodder price. They had lost patience from trying to sell him repeatedly with no luck. They had even regening and scattering him to make him more appealing. Little did they know a kindhearted stranger would see him, and quickly snatch him up for safe keeping. They believed that such a handsome boy must have been mispriced. They sent a message offering him back, but were surprised to find that his sale was intentional. The light clan rewarded the finder for their diligence and honesty, and transferred his fate into their hands. The finder was ecstatic that they could invite such a beautiful elder to join their clan. Gen somberly accepted the invitation saddened by the thought of leaving his home.

As it so happened, he arrived to the Carrion Canyon on the very day that another elder had finished their scrolling. A triple gem gened, six digit wildclaw like himself, who went by the name Corwin, and was only five days older than Gen. They instantly connected, and became close friends. Corwin did most of the talking, of course, but Gen was happy to find someone who he could reminisce with and confide in. They spent their time telling stories, and playing games together. The pair grew a deep platonic friendship.

Gen's memory has been foggy as of late, but hearing Corwin's tales helped him feel more at ease with his slipping past. Gen told his dear friend about his traveling: born in a Shadow clan, moved to the nature Clan Camelcase, ???, lived with the light flight Seeker Clan, and finally arriving at the lightning clan in the Carrion Canyon. He spoke of his family: his departed parents and siblings, his beloved Vera, his late son Vector, and his many grandchildren. He briefly mentioned his regening and scattering expressing both fear and excitement during the process. He talked in great lengths about his love of the nature flight, and of the nature mages he trained under. All of his stories intrigued Corwin who had led a rather boring life in comparison. Though normally quiet and submissive, around a close friend Gen can effectively open up.

“So you want to know what this broken link is then? Well let’s take a look. Little change to the url here, a tweak there, and done. Should work fine now…” the tinkerer paused, admiring the piece before handing it back to Gen. What was once jumbled was now clear. He held it in his claws. Ah yes, this is what he used to look like. It was familiar but long forgotten. The piece offered a glimpse of the past and a glimmer of hope. He noticed the signature at the base and decided to do some digging leaving the tinkerer in his wake of determination. He easily found the forum and artist, but could not locate the commissioner. He sighed making a note of the source.

Gen had clues (a song, a mysterious face, art, and lyrics), but no proper memories as to what it all meant. At least one more piece of the puzzle could be pinned into place. His forgotten colors and genes: obsidian basic, obsidian basic, and sky(?) circuit. This differed so much from his current look: red metallic, vermillion facet, and thistle stained. He mulled over the new development briefly before rushing off to tell Corwin, lest he forgot once more.
