Yoryokuso had a strange life growing up. His parents had a strange on again off again relationship that caused quite a bit of drama amongst the small clan. Yoryo would often be in the clan bar, only to find his father in the cups about their latest breakup.

Yoryo, or Yoyo as he's called by his family members, wanted to leave the Tabemono as quickly as possible after coming of age. Despite his love of the Tabemono and it's forests, he used family connections to secure a position as the ambassador to Refuge. They welcomed him with open arms, excited to have another child of the forest among them.

The move to Refuge was such a relief from his parents' drama, and a big city gave him so many more opportunities than he could ever dream of as a child.
