Soft-spoken and sweet, Wisp functions as the clan's seer after learning to channel her gift from the clan-mother. Her disposition only sours around her brother, the two having a rivalry mostly built around Nox's envy of her powers. Other than that, though, around the rest of the clan, Wisp is as kind as can be, trying to gentle the delivery of her prophecies to those she cares about. After her fifth year, Wisp found what she had thought to just be daydreams increasing, showing her glimpses of outcomes and consequences, many and varied. She didn't notice the clan-mother's watchful eyes or careful conferences with her mother, too busy trying to puzzle out what her visions could mean for her and those around her, until one day, a clear image came to Wisp. It was herself, at the clan-mother's side, staring intently into a cluster of sacridite as they recited an incantation. She knew then that her gift had to be nurtured, something Tali'Zorah likely could have told her long before, but knew Wisp would discover on her own. Studying under Tali'Zorah taught Wisp to harness her gifts and reach into the future when she wished. Wisp wasn't Tali'Zorah's only apprentice, as the Imperial Alstromeria came to the clan hearing voices from the other side, which Tali helped her learn to control, until they were able to find the voice that was really trying to reach her: the Arcanist's. In learning together under Tali, Meri became more like a proper sibling to Wisp than Nox had ever been, and Wisp is never far from her clan-sister's side, the two sharing the painful but glorious burdens of their gifts. There have only been a few times when Wisp has not seen the future, all of those times around the reincarnated members of their clan: when near Len, Barry, Mick, and Lisa, Wisp often sees into their pasts, glimpsing their previous lives and actions. Len, Mick, and Lisa all consider it a gross invasion of privacy and avoid Wisp like the plague, and she can't say she minds, with all the pain in their past lives. Barry, however, is eager to share, wanting to know all the details. |
