Biography
☁️ celestine (0g base - 550g genes - 520g apparel - 850g accent) - the watcher. - celestine initially appears to be an old statue dripping with gold and flowers. beautiful, but ultimately inconsequential. the teahouse's owners certainly thought so; she's been sitting unmoved out in the garden for centuries. - but this statue harbors a secret. its sculptor knew it was pretty, but they wanted it to be something more. lifelessness is the worst fate for a work of art, they thought, so why not imbue it with some life of a sort? |
- mortals are selfish. - they want nothing more than to be something that they are not. eternal. significant. they struggle against the current, refusing to just let their memory be swept away. it is not as if they will ever know they are forgotten; they crave only the idea of leaving a mark behind after they're gone. - this artist was just like the others, of course. obsessed with creating something bigger than themselves. it was not good enough to create something beautiful, something fleeting. oh, no. it had to be something more. something alive. - they didn't care that nobody would ever see me, nor did they care about the fate they were cursing me to. they just had to feed their own wretched ego. - the spell would summon a spirit and tie it to a material form - the statue. it was a difficult one, requiring much practice and sacrifice. this was not an example of mortal passionate impulse; this was a long-premeditated ordeal. - the lengths they will go to. - they died quickly. it seemed like it took eternities in the moment, but i have had time enough to see those moments fade away. nobody remembered them. nobody gave a second thought to their wretched statue. at least i have that comfort. - my prison is crumbling away, and i have nothing but patience. |
- celestine has watched over the teahouse for nearly as long as it has existed, but only recently has she begun to care. - for centuries, it passed from mortal hand to mortal hand, providing a stop for weary travelers on their way. at the time, of course, almost all left safely and continued onward along their path with a little smile on their face. - but eventually, the chain of the living broke. the last owners of the teahouse died, but the footprints they left behind remained. - when the same routine has been tread for as long as these ones had, it leaves a mark on the world. time becomes a little bit thinner and realities start to converge. - the first spirits arrived, and the teahouse became something more than a mortal travel destination. - celestine didn't notice at first. she paid little attention to the few visitors that entered the teahouse, and even less attention to whether they left. wisteria and selene's hard work went unnoticed - but more of both the living and the dead soon arrived. nephelle stopped watching the world and began interfering, guiding mortals toward their deaths inside. - after azurite escaped a time prison of her own and made her way to this place, the statue finally began to crumble enough to allow its prisoner to roam, if only a little. - celestine began her escape. |

I tried really hard not to choose dragons on the first page unless I was super impressed with them and boy howdy do did Celestine hit everything on my list. She's so pretty and reminds me of having cotton candy on a sunset beach. Her little bio makes me so sad, don't cry sweet Celestine.
