🧁 selene (0g base, ty moom! - 50g apparel, ty toppy! - 0g accent, ty salem!)

- the end.

- lives in the basement of the teahouse. the place is pristine, except for the fact that it looks like no living soul has touched it in centuries. it probably hasn't; selene is clearly anything but alive. her body is wispy, her eyes glowing, and her ghostly arms many.

- selene is a spirit born from pure magic; she's never had a real body before. while she was able to hold a stable form when she first came to the teahouse, it slowly degraded and dragons started to fear rather than welcome her.

- after wisteria has served you tea, you feel a little weak, almost wispy. it's hard to lift the teacup, almost like your hand goes right through it.
- "go down to the basement," she says. "you look a bit ill. selene can help you."
- wisteria has been nothing but kind, so of course you oblige. carefully, you weave through the delicate shelves of teacups and pastries until you get to a small spiral staircase that seems to go down forever.

- every step it feels like the room gets darker and the wood gets older. the stairs creak louder and louder until their echoes are the only thing in your head. step, step, step.
- it's darker than anything you've ever experienced.
- you put your foot down to take another step down the stairs, and suddenly it's stopped. you stumble a little, but that temporary shock is eclipsed.

- a bright light fills your vision; at first you can't make out anything more, but slowly you begin to see better. a cyan glow, a halo, and the silhouette of a not-quite-dragon. and then dozens of hands reaching through the dark.
- moments later, the darkness is lifted, and there is selene. her body is smoky and decked out in a gorgeous variety of jewelry, teacups, and flowers which seem to just hang there, suspended in the mist. everything about her is just a little off. she's shaped right, but her form seems to dance under your gaze.

- like a patch of fog trying to mimic a dragon. because that's exactly what she is.

- selene wasn't always this way. well, she was always an unearthly spirit that coalesced from scraps of energy, but she didn't previously look the part.
- long ago, when she could hold a corporeal form together, she worked alongside wisteria in the earliest days of the teahouse. at the time, the two of them were alone together (to their knowledge) in gathering mortal souls.

- as time went on, her face fell. she grew tired of enchanting and ensnaring. tired of putting on a show for every passing visitor, whose numbers only seemed to be growing despite the fact that none ever returned.
- and for a spirit desperately clinging to this in-between world in the teahouse, any physical form is a type of performance.
- the singsong voice that she and wisteria once shared dropped to a raspy call that barely formed words. her once-solid body began to swirl under the bright sunlight that streamed through the windows, and then it began produce its own glow.

- eventually, more spirits arrived to fulfill the remaining empty footprints. more changes were made to the teahouse, more little tricks. more people relying on selene to put on a face that had clearly long crumbled.
- she was powerful in many ways, but this acting was clearly not one of them. eventually, selene had to accept that this was not her role to play.

Let's end this review with another G1 Skydancer! I don't know the word for this aesthetic, but it totally makes me dig a certain kind of music. Look what you've done! The grasp and flowerfalls match each other super well, they match up very well to color theory. Stained is hands down my favorite tertiary gene, and this is a splendid use of it. I didn't notice she had stained at first, but considering the depth of her colors, I logically should have. I love the flower crown here, it meshes with the skin you've selected for this Skydancer. Glowing is the best possible eye type for this lady.
