Jupiter the Dark Mage

I. From a young age Jupiter was always interested in the dark arts of Sornieth, wanting to practice it as much as possible whenever he was out of his parents' watchful gazes. The arts of the Shade were fascinating to hatchling Jupiter, and he went out to find pieces he would use in his practices. His older adopted brother Salford, however, found Jupiter's enchantment with the dark arts suspicious and immoral, perceiving those who practice the dark arts as evil. The two brothers got into arguments, which escalated and forced most members of the Empire to take sides. Eventually, Aislinn and Arcano took sides too. Horrified at what he'd done, Jupiter exiled himself to a lonely island. Although sad to see him go, his parents understood why he decided to leave and didn't stop him.

Despite being isolated on the island, Jupiter enjoyed the peace and quiet. Not being disturbed by Salford, or Abbas or any other dragons allowed him to work on his dark arts in utter silence. He managed to create new spells no other dragon thought of creating: spells that could restore broken limbs, that could make one permanently strong. He even discovered a spell from a remnant of the Shade that would bring the dead back to life, but only at the cost of another life. The years of solitude left Jupiter weak and thin; a dragon who could barely hunt. He did not waste his time with finding good and nutritious food and instead he ate what he could find, including dirt.

II. A few years later Jupiter found a Skydancer hidden in a dirt mound at the island's edge. While Jupiter did his best to try and scare the Skydancer—named Ichirou—away, he didn't budge. Ichirou asked for assistance, as he had broken his leg and wanted to see the power of dark magic for himself rather than go to a healer. Impressed by his bravery and not wanting to let a potential ally out of his sight, Jupiter healed Ichirou's leg with his magic. In awe, Ichirou begged Jupiter for a place at his side, wanting to learn more about dark magic.

Agreeing, Jupiter then took Ichirou under his wing as his apprentice. The two drakes grew closer as each day passed. Jupiter enjoyed Ichirou's company after spending so many years alone, and Ichirou loved learning more about the darkest arts. Their bond was eventually what caused Ichirou to propose to Jupiter after they visited the main islands together (though Rivule also had a talon in it). The two were married in a quiet ceremony back on the main islands, before returning back to the Lone Isle. Ichirou and Jupiter eventually adopted the hatchling Coatl Eirianwen, who they call Eirie.

III. Although Ichirou still must return to the Saltstone Reef every once and a while, he visits his husband whenever he can, and Jupiter always welcomes his visits.

A few years after Ichirou and Jupiter were wed, Jupiter realized he wanted a child. Someone to pass on all his knowledge to. Ichirou wished for this as well, but didn't know exactly how they would get one. So Jupiter, in all his glory and genius, used his powers of magic to conjure an egg. This egg eventually hatched into Eirianwen. Due to the rest of the Empire looking down on such magic, Ichirou lied to everyone, saying that he and Jupiter found the egg. Either way, Eirianwen grew up to have a lot of love for both his fathers, even joining in on Jupiter's more... illicit practices sometimes.
