Ichirou the Captain

I. A noble warrior from a young age, Ichirou always felt a strong sense of pride to his clan, especially to Empress Aislinn. However, Ichirou feared that because his parents were outsiders, he would not be accepted. And the likes of Corrente and Abbas crusading against outsiders didn't make things better. Ichirou strived to prove himself and was always the first to volunteer for patrols. Due to his submission to his superiors, Lord Salford quickly promoted him through the ranks until Ichirou became a Captain on par with Mahmut and Miyako.

Ichirou befriended Mahmut, though he thought Mahmut was much too reckless and cruel. However, he did form a good friendship with the Mirror. Though Miyako and Mahmut were rivals, it was almost always Ichirou standing between the two of them to keep them from tearing each other apart. Ichirou continued to prove himself as a warrior and as a loyal member of Aislinn's Empire.

Ichirou especially got close with Hati and Sviurr and the three could often be seen talking about philosophical pieces together. Ichirou even tried his talons at music and acting, though he found it wasn't his forte. As such, Ichirou was known for his terrible puns.

As a captain in his own right, Ichirou always treated the warriors under him with care. When it became clear that Ichirou was being too soft, Galechka and Lonicera agreed to send him to the neutral Kingdom of the Sunstars to train him up. Though adverse to this idea, Ichirou soon found he had no choice in the matter.

II. Ichirou loved the warriors of the Sunstars, due to their crass nature. He formed decent friendships with Islwyn and Rye. As he trained under their warriors, Ichirou found himself getting stronger not just as a warrior, but as a leader as well.

Upon his return to the Empire, the prejudiced dragons were much more reluctant to tease him. Although Abbas still did not trust an outsider, Ichirou eventually proved himself and defeated the Imperial in a spar. Miyako and Mahmut were quite surprised at this sudden change in their comrade, with Miyako herself being unable to believe that her meek brother was now a fierce warrior. The bonds between the three deepened and they became great warriors together.

Years passed by, and Ichirou found himself getting somewhat bored. His sister Kasumi, ever the loving dragoness, knew exactly what was up. He didn't have a partner. Still unsatisfied, he took a swim out into the out islands to clear his head and get away from the rest of the Empire for a while. An unexpected current swept him away, however. He tried to fight it, but found that it was too strong for him to escape. Battered, he awoke on one of the out islands.

He managed to hide himself in the dirt of the island, deciding to wait before trying to fly away. He waited there for a few hours, hoping that the rest of the Empire would notice he was missing.

Jupiter found him first.

III. Though Ichirou was aware of Jupiter's existence, he believed the stories that hatchlings mothers spread about him. But instead of being fearful of Jupiter's dark magics, he was quite fascinated. He practically begged Jupiter to heal his leg, for he wanted to see the power of dark magic for himself. Despite his initial hesitance, Jupiter did as he asked. Amazed, Ichirou asked Jupiter if he could become his apprentice in the dark arts.

Still hesitant, Jupiter did not think this would be a good idea due to who Ichirou's parents were, but agreed. Jupiter taught the Skydancer as much as he could. Ichirou loved learning, using each tactic to better himself as a fighter and leader. Each day he would go to Jupiter's island, learning more about dark magic before returning home before he was missed.

It didn't take long for Miyako and Mahmut to realized what he was doing, and with a little prodding from Kasumi he eventually realized that he was in love with Jupiter. The bond the Skydancer and Tundra had made was enough for Ichirou to propose, though Rivule did have some part in it. They were married in a quiet ceremony back on the main islands, before returning to what they called the Lone Isle. A few years later, they adopted the young Coatl named Eirianwen who they nicknamed Eirie. Even though Ichirou and Eirie live on the main islands, they still visit Jupiter as much as possible.
