During Yoon's time under the Icewarden's wing, he had been assigned to be Yoon's teacher despite being only three days older. He was skilled in battle, had a quick mind and wit. He was thought to be one of the most intelligent dragons of his age. Eden was born within the Icewarden's own lair after his parents were exalted to the Stormcatcher, and so he knew more about the leader of the Ice Flight than most.

When Yoon was named Alpha of his own Clan, Eden followed him without hesitation, despite being able to continue living under the Icewarden's wing. His reason was none other than, "Yoon's my best friend. I will follow him until death." The Icewarden was slightly upset to lose one of his children from the main clan of the Flight, but he was reasonable and let Eden do as he pleased.

The first month of the Clan was hard, and Eden knew it more than anyone. He saw the most vulnerable stages of the young Alpha. He watched as Yoon broke, then picked himself up, determined and hopeful. The fruits of Yoon's efforts grew, and soon the clan flourished.
