g BIOGRAPHY From the day he'd hatched, Eridian had always been by his sister, Suriya's side. When he emerged from the confines of his egg, Eridian was greeted by nothing but cold winds, billowing into the cave they had been set in. Just he and Suriya, not another lifeform in sight. From that moment, he knew what he had to do - he'd have to fight his way to survive. And he'd have to make sure his sister did too; he couldn't explain it, but the notion of leaving her defenseless irked him. She, after hatching, was clueless unlike himself after all. As years passed, Eridian's determination for survival turned into bloodlust. Neither Suriya nor Eridian himself saw it coming - it was after his first kill, a dragon who meddled in the slave trade - that he realised the thrill that come with fighting to the death. He'd hurt others before, sure, to protect themselves, but never had he killed because of Suriya. Now that he had, Eridian found new enjoyment in his life, one that he prioritised over both their lives. He only wanted to fight. Kill. Hurt. And Suriya could only watch helplessly as her brother drew himself closer to insanity. Eridian became known as one of the strongest in Sornieth, one of the most despicable and was often targeted. Bounties were piled upon his head, and so were they on Suriya's as an accomplice. Countless dragons challenged them to battle, Eridian taking them all on by his own. It wasn't long before Suriya could bear it no longer. Her brother was covered in wounds, but the corpses that laid were covering the land below. She, in an attempt to end everything, turned towards a band of dragons observing by the side, who she knew to be one of the mercenary guilds, and challenged them to battle. The dark dragon embedded in purple gems in front of the others refused. Suriya was not the problem, and they weren't interested in putting down an innocent individual. Completely unsure of what to do, she charged the leader - a light coloured dragon stood between them and held her down. Eridian, seeing this, immediately had his targets switched, and as the light dragon pinned Suriya to the snow, Eridian engaged battle with the dark leader. It was a close battle - both bore heavy wounds caused by one another. But eventually, a small mistake on his part had Eridian collapsing to the ground, exhausted and bleeding. The dark dragon stood over him, looking coldly down into his eyes. Eridian realised then he'd finally lost; but why did the dark dragon look almost... sad? His eyes were full of life, determination and strength, but behind it, Eridian could see the overflowing amounts of burden and sorrow, helplessness. It captivated him; he wasn't quite sure why. He'd seen so many dragons with these expressions, yet he'd never been phased by them. Perhaps it was because he'd just lost - for the first time - even if it was a team effort. Maybe it was the way the leader looked so conflicted behind his facade of confidence. He didn't know. But something in the leader stirred up a different will to protect. A will to care and erase all things bad. With the last of his consciousness, he asked if there was a place for him within the guild. Surprised, the leader's eyes widened just the slightest, amusing Eridian, but ultimately the leader nodded rigidly. With a smirk, his vision went blurred just as an orange Pearlcatcher stood over him with a bunch of herbs. g CHARACTER Eridian, to say the least, is an ambitious fighter. After all, there was a time when he had aspired to be known as the strongest dragon Sornieth would ever have come to see. Yet just at the pinnacle of the hierarchy, he was felled by the Leader of Crimson Crown - not due to his strength having left his body (much the opposite, with the adrenaline that had pumped through his blood), but due to a desire to protect. His journey had come to an end then, yet he'd never forgotten his love for the battlefield, the thrill of fighting with his life on the line. It was just as well, since the Crimson Crown was a battlefield of its own. Eridian's calmed down much since his younger days, with thoughts of Yoon hanging over him at every waking moment. Now, he only maims as he is permitted, no matter how strong the urge to battle. Before Yoon and before the Guild, Yoon was nothing more than a walking, flying disaster. He took on every dragon he came across, not letting a single pass just in case they might be worth more than they let on in a brawl. He loved the feel of skin and flesh ripping beneath his claws, the way his teeth would sink into his opponents. He grew more excited each time his life was threatened ever more. And while he remained loyal to his sister, he never would listen to her pleas to stop his ways. Nothing really mattered to him then apart from knowing that he needed to protect his sister. Not even his own life. Back then, Eridian was also much of a playboy. He liked being in the presence of women and the occasional man. Each day he would end was another night spent with another dragon. It wasn't difficult for him to conquer his pick for the night - after all, Eridian always had a way with his words. And if words weren't enough, his looks did him well. To be accompanied each night was no difficult task. Given that, despite his strong loyalty and affection to Yoon, Eridian constantly continues to flirt with other dragons - mainly outside of Yoon's supervision. Yet sometimes even in Yoon's presence it slips, and he's left to deal with a very annoyed Yoon. Most laugh off his attempts to flirt with them with the knowledge of where his affections truly lie, but there are times in which their clients would fall for his words and cause trouble for both the Guild and Eridian himself. Eridian isn't as serious as most who know of his reputation would believe. As one of the most notoriously known dragons, one would expect him to be serious, full of himself, individualistic, and most of all, a murderer. Which isn't far off, but Eridian really is actually quite a playful joker. He's often joking along with some of his closer friends in the Guild, goofing around with Eden and messing with Barachiel. He likes listening to the jokes of others as well, and finds it amusing to watch children play. In the Guild, Eridian looks almost normal, especially so when compared to the demon of his past. g ROLE As the right-hand to the Leader of Crimson Crown, he stands as one of Yoon's closest aides and protectors. It's in his job description as both Yoon's aide and bodyguard to keep the other safe. Not that he really needs some kind of title to tell him to. Eridian keeps Yoon safe from all kinds of possible harm - as long as he can help it. Even the smallest of pranks that might not even bother Yoon can be an unspeakable act in Eridian's eyes. But of course, it all depends on the underlying intention. Even if Eridian may lash out at first with his overbearing care for the younger, he never forgets to check twice. As one with first-hand experience with maliciousness and lies, Eridian is skilled in picking out lies from truths. Apart from keeping by Yoon's side, Eridian heads a unit of his own as their Captain. Most of his soldiers are the more rebellious of Luthien's faction, as he has the strength to keep them under control and the skill to observe their behaviour. Mixed in are a couple of the Guild's own strongest of varying factions, as well as the strongest mentally to not be swayed by the rebels. Every day for Eridian is tough with the men he has; but then again, he can't complain because they were handpicked by himself. It's for Yoon's sake. g FAMILIAR Khal is a Hydra beat into submission by yours truly. Originally a gift for his beloved Yoon, he was distraught when Yoon only lectured him about Eridian's choice in companions. After all, the creature was larger than even them - how on Sornieth would they keep the Hydra in check? All their fears were solved later when an area for handling familiars was constructed. Even so, Yoon refused to accept the Hydra as his own, and Eridian was left with a Hydra in his hands. Whilst they decided on what to do with the oversized familiar, Yoon tasked Eridian with feeding and caring for Khal. And naturally, the bond between them formed and Eridian was quick to announce that he would keep Khal as his own. |

═ g RELATIONSHIPS ▸ he's smitten, a tail-wagging pupper for yoon. like. he would literally rip the moon from the sky if yoon wanted it, and circle the world as many times as need be to search for items of legends if yoon ever wondered if they were real (which he actually has; it took four years before yoon finally found him and literally dragged him back home). he's super into yoon and shows it on a daily basis. he doesn't even mind that when he gets too much, yoon kinda lashes back violently; he's kinda a masochist for yoon, and a sadist for everyone else. if yoon gets hurt, he's likely to get in a rage that no one can stop. ▸ barachiel is kinda like a disciple to him. he sees barachiel as this cute little boy who just wants senpai's attention and praise. they spar quite often, obviously resulting with eridian's win, and then eridian gives barachiel some tips and hinters to get better before leaving to do his own thing. eridian's aware of barachiel's hatred towards yoon though, so he's always keeping an eye on barachiel when yoon's present. but then again, yoon sure has some crazy antis around him. ▸ it's passed now, but when alaia was around, he actually was envious of her and sometimes thought to silently get rid of her (he never did it of course - what would he ever do if yoon found out?). she was yoon's mate after all, albeit a business mating and nothing more. they surely did not act as a couple, and were literally only mates by name, but eridian was jealous of how close she could be to yoon, how she could actually room with him even if she didn't. most of all, he just hated her title as yoon's mate. he never made his hatred obvious though, pretending to be his usual self whenever they would cross paths. not that alaia didn't know - she knew everything. ▸ eridian and eden are pretty good friends, despite being individuals on opposing sides of the spectrum. they're unlikely friends - eridian the chaotic evil, and eden the lawful good. it's amazing that they're such good buddies. most of the time, they're talking about yoon though for some reason. eridian gushing about how adorable the love of his life is, and eden going 'oh yeah he was pretty cute as a kid' leading a to huffy eridian who gets jealous ** and demands childhood stories. ▸ ever since yoon returned his affection - no, even before that - eridian had begun to think of opheos as a child of his own. he gives the little fae everything he wants, plays with him, protects him. he looks proudly on at opheos whenever the boy would do something adorably sweet, praising him with a fatherly look in his eyes. one day, he hopes to be able to call opheos his son. ▸ ophaelie's return had begun as a shock to eridian. and it wasn't because she was meant to have passed on. rather, it was because she was yoon's mother, and he had to do everything he could to be in her good books. however, things have gotten difficult ever since she figured out his intentions to court her son. ophaelie is one of the few who can keep him in control. in fact, she can do more, and make him feel things like despair. utter despair when she tells him that he could never be her son-in-law. (but honestly, she quite approves of him for her son; she can tell yoon means the world to eridian, and trusts eridian to cherish him for many years to come) g TRIVIA ▸ he was born with insane strength. it's one of the biggest reasons - apart from his experience and natural instincts - for every battle he wins. after all, he's a little smaller than most imperials, so the power that bursts forth is unexpected and works to his advantage. ▸ never kills anymore because of yoon. he still loves fighting to the death, but usually catches himself before he kills another. yoon's constantly in his mind, after all. ▸ that said, he's yet to lose to another dragon. the only time he's lost so far, has been up against yoon, but even then, he hadn't even reached his limit yet. ▸ ever since joining the crimson crown and learning from yoon, eridian has always felt guilty towards his younger sister, suriya. she's long left now, but if he were to see her again, he decided that he would apologise and make it up to her. ▸ eridian's actually wondered whether dating eden would get yoon jealous, and asked eden about it. eden just kinda shrugged with this mysterious smile before quickly refusing to help because he has a mate. eridian then asked if barachiel would be a better choice, which was quickly shot down because barachiel would probably attempt to assassinate yoon for the rest of his life if barachiel actually figured that out. ▸ sneaks into yoon's bedroom at night often and either, one, gets the stuffing beat out of him, or two, spoons yoon to sleep and get beat the eff up in the morning. it's a tough love. ▸ though not shown, has a scar on his left shoulder from fighting yoon as opposed to yoon's on the right. sometimes he likes to show it off, pointing at it like "couple scars; jealous yet?" ▸ although he's unsure about his parents, he's heard that he could possibly have been 'created', rather than born, from an emperor's power. which would explain his abnormal strength and endurance. |
