Gowan’s a good foil for Lakeisha—laid-back where she’s intense, intuitive where she’s intellectual, personable where she’s intimidating. He’s by far the more approachable one, and if a pack member has an issue that they’re afraid to bring up with Lakeisha, they’ll usually take it to Gowan instead, and he’ll either advise them on it or bring it to Lakeisha himself…eventually. He tends not to have much sense of urgency unless there’s some imminent danger—for instance, something’s about to explode. Even in a crisis, he rarely rushes, instead taking a good long look at the situation before diving in. Although he’s outwardly friendly enough and easy to talk to, he’s hard to actually know. Questions about anything other than work and the daily life of the pack are usually deflected, often so subtly that the asker doesn’t even notice. His inner life and opinions are kept close to his chest, and although he and Lakeisha are partners and triad-mates, it’s not even really clear how he actually feels about her. They do work well together, though. Gowan has an unusually keen awareness of magical energy flows, being able to sense their course, alignment, strength, and more without the use of spells or tools. (This is possibly related to his element of Water and its affinity for psychic visions.) He often serves as a troubleshooter/magic checker for Lakeisha’s work, in addition to poking around on his own esoteric projects. He’s an eclectic tinkerer rather than a scholar, and he likes to mix a little non-Arcane technology in with his magical devices sometimes. This is not always a success. Gowan’s egg came to the Isles from the sea, and he still demonstrates an attraction toward the wide-open water, often spending time on the ocean-facing side of the spire or the rock pillars lining the shore, watching the waves roll in. If a dragon were to sit by his side and watch along with him, perhaps he might actually share some of his thoughts and feelings. ...or maybe not.
