Biography
Andor
Lakeisha's Assistant (and Son)
highly skilled · ambitious · a dedicated helper · actually a sociopath
______________ |
As Lakeisha’s oldest unexalted child and a talented magician in his own right, Andor serves as her primary assistant. Although he’s nowhere near as brilliant with mathematical abstractions as she is—he understands just enough to follow her work, but not enough to build upon it—he excels in both runic magic and the channeling of metaphysical energies. He’s been instrumental in creating structures to capture and contain otherworldly radiations, although they haven’t actually been put into use yet, as Lakeisha is still in the preliminary phase of theory and remote research. Still, some testing has been done with Sornieth-native forces, and the results have been extremely promising. In addition to wearing elaborate jewelry that he has personally infused with various spells, Andor has arcane patterns inked directly into his skin. These serve various purposes, including protection, clairvoyance amplification, and storage of small items (generally runic talismans). The work is delicate and complex, revealing a fine degree of control and patience. Although Andor appears entirely dedicated to Lakeisha’s work, he’s ambitious and eager to acquire power of his own. Lakeisha makes good use of his gifts but (wisely) never entirely trusts him not to overstep the boundaries she’s laid down. She double checks his work very carefully (sometimes calling Gowan in for a second opinion). Since she’s always been compulsively cautious, Andor isn’t sure whether she sees through him or not. In any case, the obstruction frustrates him, although he’s careful never to show it. Andor’s obedient, deferential front vanishes when Lakeisha isn’t around. He enjoys pressuring others to get what he wants, although he restricts himself to younger and less confident dragons, who make easier, safer targets. He can be casually, silkily cruel or arrogantly mocking, but always with plausible deniability—he’s a gaslighter supreme. And although he’s never actually hurt one of his packmates physically, he wouldn’t scruple to destroy something of theirs, or even to secretly kill a pet or familiar. Unsurprisingly, he has no friends in the pack. Not that he cares, of course. (He also knows more about the workings of the triad bond than anyone other than Lakeisha. This should possibly be a cause for concern.) | ********** |
