"One day, beneath the harsh desert sun, two dragon parents sought frantically for a way to save their offspring. Their nest was a sickly one; the eggs within it had failed to thrive. Medicine had failed them, so in desperation their parents turned to magic. An old book, musty and long-forgotten, told the parents of a secret which might save their young. It spoke of a ritual that would save them, if its conditions were met. Their hatchlings would survive, and they would be imbued with potent magic unlike any other, but it would come at a price - one that the parents must pay. In order for their lives to be saved, the dusty old book said, the eggs would have to be given over to the sky, forever losing their earthly ties. They would be claimed by no one, beholden to no family but each other."

However, with Galanta's foresight and warning, Anduin cast magic that was strong enough to change him from a comet destined to destroy the world into a glorious and beautiful Imperial. When Aduial saw her, he knew that the beauty he saw from his travels was her - a beautiful, lone Skydancer shining as bright as a star. Hatchlings from these two have sparks of magic that are unbelievably powerful, and a love of space and travel that may never be satisfied. The innate abilities of the family include word, bone and blood magic, as well as stargazing and future predictions. There is also a bit of unknown magic from space - the mystery of how existence began included. Each hatchling has their own personality, their own abilities. This makes the family incredibly special and incredibly mysterious. It is not often that they share their magic and secrets, but it is passed down in the family. Each hatchling has their own secret to be discovered.”

Generation 4 - Lineage Closed
This dragon is descended from Cedric and Alder, both outcasts. Cedric was found in an abandoned nest. While his adopted parents and a few members of his town accepted him quite well, he was treated poorly by the rest because of his strange new Filigree pattern. He eventually ran away to escape the humiliation and lived alone. Alder was the first in her family line to be born with the Filigree gene. They called it a "mutation" and insinuated that she was a monster. She abandoned them in order to explore Sornieth, learn more about magic, and find others who looked like her. After they met, they decided to continue Alder's mission together.
They would find during their travels that their Filigree allowed them to store excess magic, and served as a conduit that allowed them to access elemental energy around them more easily. It also allowed them to use sources of elemental magic and cast elemental spells that did not align with the element of their birth.
The two of them raised many hatchlings together over the course of time, and while all of their descendants became great at using magic, only those with the Filigree retained the traits Cedric and Alder were most known for. Their excess energy stores and their ability to use any elemental magic source.
