______ Khione had an interesting time getting employed at the grocery store, she was a very young hatchling when it happened so her memories of life prior are extremely fuzzy. She mostly just remembers the cold enveloping her and being lost, with barely anything to tell her where she was in the sea of white. Then suddenly next thing she knew she was in a grocery store, wrapped in a blanket and a bunch of older dragons talking about something near her.

Eventually she got settled into the place thanks to some employees sneaking by to give her snacks and toys in the play area she has been living in for the past week. It was very different than what she was experiencing before, and she preferred this even though she could tell this wasn't quite normal. A few years have passed by now, she was capable of doing some basic tasks and would follow some of her favourite dragons that would take care of her and attempt to help with some simple tasks.

One day though she got lost, she took a wrong turn in the bathroom since the dragon she was following went in there to mop the floors of this maze-like area. Seemingly enless long, winding hallways covered in well polished white tiles were the only thing that greeted her everywhere she turned, in a blind panic she bolted through them, not keeping track of what directions she was going but just filled with the need to get out. Her legs were burning by the time the scenery finally changed, this time back to the familiar aisles that she called her home. Khione had no idea where she was at this point, trying to find a map was not really an option since it was famous among employees for causing headaches from just looking at it for a few seconds, and that was the simplified version.

However she didn't really mind all that much, being lost in the endless aisles was a regular occurance and Wispy didn't mind that much if employees occasionally took a few products here and there. With a defeated sigh she grabbed a nearby bag of cookies and carefully opened it, making sure nobody else was around to see, and hastily shoved as many as she could in her mouth. She was known to have quite the sweet tooth, sometimes eating an entire jar of sprinkles as is, much to other employees shock and horror.

Deciding this was a good time to relax a bit she found a nice corner and took out her notebook, only whenever she was certain nobody else was around did she like to write. It was mostly because she would never admit to anyone else that this was her hobby because she was terrified at the idea of anyone else reading what she wrote. But for now, it was back to her new revision of her romance novel, 17th time's the charm right?

She was 7 chapters deep in at this point, completely oblivious to her surroundings in her writing frenzy. Especially unaware of the massive imperial she has been sitting near this entire time. The one that is currently leaning over to get a better look at what she's currently writing, at first just to make sure she wasn't writing anything against the grocery stores rules but now completely invested in the story. Khione mentally decided it was time for another snack break since she has been at this for a few hours now. Closing the notebook she finally looked up and was greeted with the sight of a rather intimidating imperial that looked ready for battle. The two stared at eachother for just a second longer and Khione screamed as loud as she could, startling them both.

"I'm so sorry I was just making sure you weren't planning on releasing anyone in the basement and I just got so invested in the story you were writing. Again I'm sorry-" the Imperial spoke so fast that Khione almost didn't register everything being said.
"O-ok apology accepted but you have to promise to never tell anyone that I write!" Khione stuttered out, still startled by this whole ordeal.
"Sounds fair, it's rare for anyone to ever visit this area and I can't leave my post so your secret is safe with me"
The last part, it was spoken so naturally but despite her first interaction with this stranger not going as smoothly as it could something about it just didn't feel right to her.
"Are you lonely here?" it slipped out of Khiones mouth before she could register what she was saying.
"Sometimes, but don't worry it's just part of my job as "Athos the keeper of the basement" " He made a grand gesture towards the door to the basement while saying his full job title, mimicing what Wispy tends to do when giving employees special titles.
That got a giggle out of Khione before she realised she hasn't introduced herself "Oh by the way I'm Khione"
Noticing Khione was moving to leave, presumably back to her job, Athos said"It was nice to meet you Khione, are you going to be visiting this area again sometime?"
"Sure, see you tomorrow" she said with a smile before heading off into the aisles.
"See you around kid"
