He raises his head, his slumber interrupted by the snapping of a stick. The tall grass around him sways, whispering in the gentle wind that breathes past, carrying the scent of a stranger. The stupor of dreams and exhaustions clears from his mind as he rises from his resting place within the meadow. The dryad's tail is tickled by the patch of wildflowers behind him, but his attention remains focused on the tree line that surrounds the mead, all of his eyes open and alert.

It is not often that his humble abode is intruded. Very few can find this place of peace, and if they are fortunate enough to discover it, it is often accidental. He flexes his claws, feeling magic began to tingle at his fingertips as he begins to weave a complex vanishing spell. It was best that he disappeared, until he could identity the stranger who had crept upon his territory.

A few seconds pass, his scales shimmer, then the Imperial is gone.
