On Ancient Breeds
Based on how they're randomly introduced within the lore, I feel like ancient breeds tend to be like tribal communities deep in unsettled or protected lands of our own world. They've purposely distanced themselves from other dragons and their ways of life, because they're focused purely on survival, not progress, lifestyle upgrades, or living in the fast lane. They don't always understand why modern dragons do what they do, or why they insist on outfits and decor, but they respect them all the same, just as they'd expect in return. Some of my ancient dragons do enjoy outfits, but they must be custom made to fit (I edit on outfits to modernized ancient breeds).
On Festival Currency
The items that dragons trade for each festival are basically just natural creations that pop up in the environment as that flight's element is just more powerful during that time of year. I'm sure that's like... talked about somewhere? Or like generally accepted headcanon I would think?
I guess I never really thought about the full implications. Like if Arcane's power suddenly gets stronger during this part of the year, causing magical shards to spring up across the land, it could be devastating to an area that's not usually full of shards (like crops, etc). Imagine during Plague fest, with all the shrooms popping up too! Crazy. The gathering of these items could've easily started as a "Hey get yer elemental junk off my lawn!" kind of thing, but eventually turned into festivities as an encouraging option instead, just to keep everyone's territories from being overrun by some other flights' elemental gunk and keep everyone happy.
I also imagine these items are very clearly special, so you can't just walk up with hella pink quartz or something, as the real ones would be buzzing with arcane energy until it wears off.
Wonder how that fits into Lightning and Winds items though (gears, scrolls)? Perhaps lost trinkets from the deities themselves, prepping for their burst in elemental power? -By Me

In an attempt to help with the gears and scrolls, I'd assume bossman makes his workers work a bit harder, to flex I guess, or they work harder themselves to generate or create more stuff, causing things to fall apart and gears to fly out but that only creates more chaos and more gears throughout the week from rebuilding and mistakes. Until everyone burns out or he lets them work less hard and get back to a normal pace.
As for the scrolls, it could be parchment paper that has nothing of value written on them if anything at all. If wind gains dominance. I'd assume the air around Sornieth will get stronger, enabling these scrolls to be released by the clan members or even flown off their shelves and brought into various areas of the world. I say clanmembers because it could be a tradition with the wind territory to release paper from their perches- a lot like how it's a thing to light up flying lanterns and set them free into the sky somewhere. Iirc wind is very care free and knowledgeable? So these could be extra scrolls they have no need for or even wrote little messages on specifically catered to the event.
