Shows were a lot of work for meager reward. Her siblings might be fine with that, not caring how much coin they pulled in, but not Dena. Why settle for less when dragons practically begged them to separate them from their treasure?

Besides, it was just a different kind of show. Everyone was entertained and went home happy. So what if she wasn't really speaking to shadowy spirits? She practiced for ages to read tail flicks and even how a Fae's frills moved to best guess answers they wanted to hear!

Even though her family insisted she had to call it a show, that didn't stop dragons from thinking it was real. It didn't keep her from having a great time, and profiting.
