Dragon Log

A proud, strong warrior, he has grown considerably from his early days, when everything was new and frightening. His friendship with a young Chimera helped him in that growth tremendously. One thing he has not been able to do yet, however, is find his name. He knows that it will have something to do with the magical in-between times, but nothing has sounded quite right, yet...

9-30-14: His Chimera familiar has Awakened! This is a happy day indeed, and he is thrilled for his friend...

10-2-14: While the Chimera is stretching it's legs and er...other extremities, the young warrior has found a new friend... a Dwarf Truffle? Well, if they like each other....

10-10-14: Persistence does, in fact, pay off. With a little contemplation—and the help of a friendly Pearlcatcher (who ironically hasn’t chosen his own name yet), he has found the perfect name for himself. It fits both his colors, and his personality: Meet Duskfire!

12-29-14: The Dwarf Truffle was Awakened! Duskfire is rather surprised, as his friend was so quiet he almost didn't notice him most of the time....

1-13-15: The Dwarf Truffle has retreated to the back of the caves, and Duskfire has found a new companion. The Slumbering Charlatan has cheerfully agreed to become Dusk's friend--though whether this is out of genuine affection, or simply a desire to be with a dragon that lets his familiars be when they want to be left alone, is anyone's guess. Still, the relationship seems to be working....

2-23-15: The usually fierce Guardian decided to take some time off today, and take a look at the Trickmurk Parade that his Clanmate, Twilight, was always going on about... ( , , )

4-13-15: The Slumbering Charlatan has Awakened at last! Or at least he has matured at last..... just ignore the snoring, all right?

7-4-15: Surprisingly, Duskfire is proving to be one of the more popular dragons of the Clan for beings to bond with. His newest acquisition is, of all things, a Manticore Screamer. It is not yet clear how the Slumbering Charlatan is going to take this new, noisy addition to the growing "family," but the Chimera and Dwarf Truffle seem content...

10-9-15: The Manticore Screamer took his time about it, but he has Awakened at last. Perhaps now his incessant shrieking will become a little less strident.... or perhaps not....

4-24-16: It might have been the screaming, or perhaps it was simply a vey healthy fear of several plant-eating dragons that have been drifting closer to Dusk, but whatever the reason, Duskfire's Dwarf Truffle has decided to retire to the Vault. Dusk is sorry to see him go, and hopes that he will emerge from time to time....

1-30-19: Duskfire is not one any dragon usually thinks of when considering those to play games, but this year he decided that the team going to the Sornieth Winter Games during the Crystalline Gala needed some expert advice in competing--and he was just the dragon to give it... ( )

2-8-19: Duskfire's expert advice did not work out as he had hoped, and the team lost the Hockey Tournament early on. Still, Dusk had a lot of fun. Perhaps he will make an attempt to guide next year's team as well...

4-11-20: Dusk has been distracted from thoughts of Hockey for the time being, due to an unexpected development in his familiar "family": The Dwarf Truffle that had bonded with him some time ago has reappeared in the Training Grounds, and seems intent on renewing their old acquaintance. Duskfire is not entirely sure why his old friend has returned, but he certainly isn't complaining...

5-28-20: Duskfire has always been a strong, proud dragon, so perhaps it is not too surprising that when he attended the Greenskeeper Gathering this year, and saw a Window apparently dedicated to a competitive game, all he could think about was his own love of competition, and how it is changed over the years. ( ) Never one to fights monsters in the Coli, Duskfire is still a lover of battles and duels in general, and never turns down a good challenge. He has somewhat mellowed over the years, however, and will now sincerely complement any worthy opponent who beats him fairly…or even one who has not won the fight, but made a good showing during their battle. He also enjoys exchanging stories of past fights and battle techniques, and will often invite former “enemies” back onto the field, so that they can teach each other their best moves. Of course, Duskfire has to consider a dragon “worthy” before sharing anything, and if he should be beaten by one he considers not to be a “worthy opponent” this Guardian of the Training Grounds has been known to sulk for days…
