Empire of Death: Order of Bone

The tundra was found lost and wandering the Scarred Wastelands as a hatchling and brought to the Clan of Death upon being found by a patrol. Given his fur, the Shadow dragon was almost easily mistaken for a Plague one, as his rusty coloration blended in well with the red sands. The clan leader, Cerberus, accepted him into the clan as the dragon a prophecy had spoken of. Lucifi wasn't sure what that prophecy was but soon learned that it meant he was destined for great things. A potential for evil or good things... but great nonetheless. Essentially, the hatchling was seen as a chosen one who would take them to great heights or destroy them with his leadership.
Even while growing up in the clan he was given much responsibility and teachings on how a second in command should lead. It was a lot to learn but Lucifi took the information in stride and eagerly awaited the day he was deemed old enough to actually take over one of the sub-clans located in the Abiding Boneyard. Most dragons were blind to it, but the young dragon was becoming rather prideful because of his prophesized birthright. He knew some of them didn't even agree with this way of selecting an heir to the throne but those dragons were silenced quickly by the clan seers. The tundra didn't let them get to his head anyway. If they didn't believe he was the chosen one then he'd make them see he was worthy of this position. |

When the time came for him to officially take over the sub-clan things went smoothly. The dragons had long since known the day was coming and Cerberus still was their leader ultimately. The guardian even checked in regularly to make sure Lucifi was doing a good job with keeping the clan running smoothly. Lucifi didn't want to just run it smoothly though. He wanted the Order of Bone to grow and thrive under his leadership, which lead to him summoning a demon named Asuras to aid with his ambitions. Soon he began picking out dragons he deemed unworthy of being in the clan; those who lazed about or those who didn't have a role to play in the function of the clan were rounded up and singled out. He and his royal guard put them through tough training, making them live near the edge of camp and work to prove they belonged in the clan. Eventually to avoid rising suspicion from Cerberus and other dragons in the clan, he caste them out to the edges of the clan's territory. It was one of the worst mistakes he could've made. One dragon survived the trials and became a healer for the Order of Bone. The others died... including two imperials, a father and son. It wasn't seen as a big deal until their bodies, which hadn't been disposed of properly and were left to rot where they'd fallen, merged with two other imperials that had died long before the Clan of Death formed in that area. Lucifi had created an emperor... a four-headed abomination. Luckily for him, the beast was still weak when it was discovered and he and a select few were able to restrain it and put the monstrosity back to sleep. Since then Lucifi has been more careful in his choices and consults Asuras less and less, much to the skydancer's displeasure. He's still ambitious and wishes to one day rule what has now turned into an empire, but is much more willing to do it in time rather than race his way to the top by any means necessary. Even so, his sub-clan still holds a liking towards dragons who don't act as freeloaders and he's often still rather prideful in his opinions. But he's come a long way from the young dragon who became second in command at a young age and many believe he will indeed make a good leader if the time ever comes. |
