Belinda is one of the First Five, the first dragons chosen by Hurricane to found Traveler's Rest. She's more outgoing than her husband Mael, and is happy to speak to both visitors and citizens alike. She is in charge of the Rest's social services, which includes planning for new buildings, keeping track of the universal basic income, and distributing food rations.

Raised in the Tsunami Flats, Belinda was hatched with the blessing of the Stormcatcher. Surrounded by Water-born dragons, she felt she didn't belong. Especially when her Guardian peers began completing their Searches. They all looked so happy and complete with their Charges, but Belinda hadn't found hers yet. Once she was old enough, she decided to leave her home clan in order to widen her Search. This brought her across the Sea of a Thousand Currents to Churnscar Wharf, where she met Hurricane. Hurricane, along with Hraekon, agreed to let her travel with them while she continued her Search. Belinda also agreed to help them start building the settlement that would become Traveler's Rest. While camping at the site, Hurricane also brought back Mael, who had been separated from his pack and left in the desert. Belinda helped nurse him back to health, and he agreed to help her with her Search while Hurricane and Hraekon were gone. The Search would come to an end when Amala sought shelter at the Rest. Belinda felt an immediate connection to the little Skydancer, and knew that she had finally found her Charge.

After Belinda and Mael became the first pair to be married on the Rest's soil, they adopted Amala as their daughter. They also took care of Koi and Jade's adopted children when their parents were out scavenging. Now that the children don't need watching anymore, Belinda enjoys having tea and walking the gardens with her husband.
