Biography
Backstory: Zeya’s parents, Yeriko and Trixibelle were some of the fastest flyers in all of Sornieth. They won countless competitions all over the continent. However, flight competitions in Sornieth have always been fierce. Many other famous flyers grew tired of coming in third place because of Yeriko and Trixibelle. In secret, these disgruntled flyers met and planned to assasinate Yeriko, Trixibelle and their daughter, Zeya (because she was already showing signs of growing to be an even faster flyer than her parents). While Zeya and the rest of family were sleeping in a hotel at the Cloudsong, the rival flyers launched an attack. Yeriko and Trixibelle were greatly outnumbered and they knew it was the end. Fortunately, the lovers held of the attackers long enough for their daughter to escape. Zeya never saw her parents die, but she heard their screams as she flew off into the dark starry night. Zeya flew over the Sea of Thousand Currents for miles and miles on end. Zeya was to terrified to turn back. Although, eventually the hatchling’s strength gave out and she fell into the Sea of a Thousand Currents. By luck and perhaps the mercy of the Tidelord, Umira and Nira happened to find Zeya, while they were swimming in the Fishspine Reef. Umira and Nira rushed Zeya to the Tsunami Flats and managed to revive her, with Neo’s healing powers. Since then, the Aquafire Clan has taken Zeya in as their own. Since Zeya is such a fast flyer, she often delivers messages from the Aquafire Clan to other dragon clans and Beastclans. Like her parents, Zeya also participates in flight competitions, but she doesn’t participate to win (even though she often does), she participates to find those competitors who plotted her parent’s demise and any other dragons who bring dirty play to the flight competitions in Sornieth.
Personality: When Zeya sets her mind on something she never backs down from it. Despite being a dragon of the wind element, she can be very stubborn at times. This pearlcatcher is very athletic and one the fastest flyers in Sornieth. However, Zeya is not arrogant and munch prefers to demonstrate her skill rather than boast about it. Like many other pearlcatchers, Zeya is very protective of her pearl, but not because it contains her essence and knowledge (which is the typical reason other members of her species guard their pearls closely). Zeya’s pearl once belonged to her father and it the only thing piece of him she has left.
Clan Position: Messenger/Diplomat/Warrior
Soul Mate: Mango
Familiar: Riku the Brown-Spotted Mith was originally Trixibelle’s faithful familiar. On the fateful night of Trixibelle’s death, Trixibelle ordered Riku to abandon her and keep her daughter, Zeya safe. Riku had wanted to fight with Trixibelle to the bitter end, but the pleading look in Trixibelle’s made him choose otherwise. Since that night, Riku has been Zeya’s voice of reason and loyal familiar. Riku is very protective of Zeya and always worries for her safety. Zeya is typically irritated by Riku’s overprotectiveness, but in the end, Zeya knows Riku is just looking out for her.
