Biography
Rosvirein
Suvi would like to let it be known that when she approached her father on that fateful day, her question was, “Might I be allowed to venture beyond our borders and survey our territory?”, and most definitely not, “Could you please make my little brother my bodyguard so that he follows me wherever I go and I never have a moment without his presence?” Yet Screechfang, bumbling father that he far too often is, interpreted the real question as something more similar to the latter.
Of course, when he knighted Rosvirein as Suvi’s bodyguard, he didn’t want a constant presence for her. He just wanted someone to watch over the young heiress, so that she could be free to explore as she pleased without fear of danger. And yet Rosvirein took his duty a little too close to heart, and is now always hot on Suvi’s heels out of concern that an enemy would take any available opportunity to strike.
That’s more or less how Rosvirein is in all regards. Well-intentioned, but takes things far too sincerely, to the point of making his clanmates uncomfortable. He is eager to serve, and loyal to his family as well as the rest of his clan. He especially feels that Suvi is her responsibility, and every fur shed from her body is a cause for Rosvirein to blame himself for his “failure” to protect her.
Due to the annoyance of Rosvirein’s constant surveillance, Suvi is always sneaking away from him, which means Rosvirein spends less time actually doing his duty and more time looking for her in a panic. If Screechfang knew about his daughter’s biggest annoyance, he would intervene in a heartbeat. But Rosvirein believes it is part of his duty to keep Screechfang from knowing of Suvi’s strifes, and so Screechfang remains ignorant to this, to Suvi’s great chagrin.
