Belladonna was born of an affair between Hypnos and Zanril. While her two younger siblings were sent away, Pandora discovered the affair and demanded that Belladonna stay. Her mother confessed to her mate at the time of the affair, to which he left. Rhen's departure utterly destroyed Zanril, leaving her locked in her den. Belladonna was taken care of and raised by her father. Though he had his own important duties to take care of, he did his best to provide for her. When Hypnos was sleeping, Belladonna spent time with Willow, learning tips and tricks of being a healer. Belladonna showed great potential, and Willow asked if she could become the Coatl's apprentice. Pandora said no, and Willow was heartbroken. Belladonna continued to learn her trade, but secretly under the table. It was decided that, if anything happened to Willow or Lucius, she would take over. Her mate is Merle, a Ridgeback from the Shifting Expanse sent as an envoy from an ally clan. The two of them get along very well with each other, and he is extremely supportive of her healing passion. With Zanril in the background of her childhood, she was startled when Artemis arrived home with Minerva. She nearly attacked the Mirror out of rage, thinking that she had taken her father from her. When she learned that Artemis was Hypnos' real mate, Belladonna hesitated letting her in, but after watching Minerva for an afternoon, she felt sympathetic for the young Mirror, seeing so much of herself in her. Because of that, she welcomed herself into their little family, taking Artemis in as her adoptive mother. She enjoys spellcasting, healing, being with Minerva, and guarding her lair from magical threats. |
