Home's bright and responsible Assistant Chief Physician, Eitan was hired as Home grew too big one chief doctor to handle. Now a fixture in the hospital wing and a passionate teacher of medicine, Eitan loves his responsibilities at Home and thrives when he is able to be an encouraging mentor figure for Home's residents.
- Biography
An orphan himself, Eitan was born in Plague, moved to Light for medical school, and never looked back. His reputation as a brilliant doctor precedes him. Specializing as a trauma surgeon, he has a steady hand and fast critical-thinking skills that have served him well throughout his career. Not a gifted magician, he shies away from medical magic and focuses on tried-and-true traditional healing practices, imparting on his students an almost encyclopedic wealth of knowledge in biology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Life at Home
As part of his duties as one of Home's chief physicians, Eitan serves as a doctor in Home's hospital wing and teaches classes outside of his shifts. Cielo rarely has time to teach basic medical courses, but Eitan loves his introductory classes is first aid and pre-med most because he loves being a part of instilling a passion for medicine into his students. Eitan is also often the dragon most of Home's residents know for patching up their scrapes and bumps, so most dragons at Home know and trust him. Wildclaws are uncommon in Plague and even rarer in Light, and Eitan is very used to often being the only Wildclaw in a room and having to deal with plenty of distrustful or even outright hostile looks and words. A dedicated doctor and humanitarian, since coming to Home he has been devoted not only to helping keep Home's residents healthy but helping to improve conditions for dragons from other uncommon or distrusted groups, frequently mentoring dragons who struggle with negative stereotypes surrounding their breed or elemental Flight.
- Relationships
Because of Eitan's duties as a doctor and his willingness to mentor residents from negatively-stereotyped groups, Eitan is known around Home as a trustworthy and helpful dragon. Most of the Wildclaws at Home look at Eitan not only as a positive mentor and role model but also a dragon who gives excellent advice and is always happy to provide a listening ear. He is well-loved by both his colleagues and his students because he is a very dependable and trustworthy sort of dragon, and very few dragons at Home have anything bad to say about Eitan. He is slow to criticize and generous with criticism, making him a very encouraging teacher.
- Personality
Genteel and respectable, Eitan is absolutely devoted to his work but can often seem a bit difficult to get to know. Although he's very polite and friendly, he can often come across as a bit awkward or reserved. His past has made him wary and slow to trust, and although he tries to never take this out on the dragons under his care, it took him a while to warm up to the rest of Home's faculty. Even though he now considers the other dragons at Home to be his family, he is still a very private dragon who tends to hesitate before sharing his worries or concerns. An extremely bright dragon, he can sometimes come across as somewhat arbitrary, simply because the range of his knowledge and experience can make his logic difficult to follow, although he's good at explaining himself if you can stick with him long enough. He can be somewhat absent-minded, and tends to be easily forgetful when working on a particular problem or getting too wrapped up in his work, often forgetting to eat or sleep. Eitan has a very ornamental style of dress, caring deeply about coming across as professional and dignified. Perhaps appropriately for a doctor, he is an extremely neat and tidy soul, easily becoming stressed by uncleanliness. He will never be seen without a pair of spiffy white gloves, and if he comes across messes, that's one of the only times he can be expected to snap at another dragon. Typically very quiet and polite, Eitan has trouble even raising his voice. Aside from his role as a doctor, he loves helping expose Home's residents to the world, and loves taking interested residents on weekend research trips. Though he can be one of the harder members of Home's faculty board to get to know, at least at first, Eitan is devoted to Home and its residents.
