The Warlock

plaguevs1.png Having quickly discovered Serezha was not the type of dragon to have a pleasant conversation with, you attempt to take your leave only to run directly into a large imperial. His hide was eerily white, though large stains of red blossomed over his head and wing tips, a birdskull necklace with matching colors hung on his chest.
"Move, I'm busy." The dismissive tone made it clear this dragon had no wish to socialize, though you were curious about the tombs you now saw strapped to his back.
"Awww, Nyrin! Be nice, can't you see you scared them?" Serezha rolled over, gazing down at the imperial with a pout.
Nyrin glanced down at you, looking you up and down, then shrugged and continued into the room, quickly losing interest in you.

Origins
plaguev2.png Being born to a mindless killer and a dangerous monster certainly had disastrous effects on Nyrin, though he managed to retain his sanity through it all. His mother, though once a peaceful hatchling, was a monster born through sleep, ready to kill regardless of motive. His father was once a proud Kitsune--if evidence and records were true--yet he was now a murderer with no sanity left. It would seem that Nyrin was destined to continue their bloody work, possibly through inheriting his mother's monster within her. As a hatchling, it seemed that such a brutal occupation would fit him fine, though Nyrin did not and never will subscribe to the notion of doing what one is told without question. By his third week in the world he was ready to move away from the blood soaked ancestry and into his own life, without Thing or It. It was quite upset with this development, as she felt he had great potential in the clan considering his heritage, but Nyrin persisted in his new en-devours: a career as a warlock. When tensions came to a head between Nyrin and his parents by the form of a bloody battle, Nyrin took to the roads and left the clan, wings and face forever stained with blood. Wanting to go far from the center of the continent--where he could practice sacrifices and other warlock skills in peace--Nyrin traveled to the desolate deserts of the Shifting Expanse. On his journey he picked up many ancient tombs, each dictating their own spells, sacrifices, and rituals with various magical results; Nyrin attempted them all in his eagerness to learn. When he finally reached the lightning domain, Nyrin realized that he had absolutely no clue where he was to stay, so he simply found the first clan willing to harbor him, even with his bloody past. For some time he moved between clans, typically staying with mercenaries, bandits, or similarly bloody dragons before finding a different way to work with his magic with the Galestorm Flyers. Having heard of their troubles with the Dark Queen, Nyrin took it upon himself to introduce his own manner of magic to the clan, hoping to assist in destroying the Shade touched dragon while doing his own research. While Nantis and Elspeth were impressed with his magical prowess, he was not completely trusted and therefore assigned as the resident warlock's apprentice: Serezha. He now continues to study and improve his skills, assisting Serezha in his vengeance occasionally but mostly focusing on his own studies. lightningv2.png

Personality
Like his mentor, Nyrin is not a mentally sound dragon and is widely known to be socially inept. A diagnosed sociopath, Nyrin has no strong ties to any of the current dragons in the Flyers aside from perhaps a slight care for Serezha. While he knows that he does many things morally wrong by society's standards, he does not feel guilt for his theft, lies, and sacrifices. Nyrin tends to speak his mind without mincing his words, often insulting dragons whether they know him well or not. This leads to high tensions and general avoidance of him by his clanmates, though Nyrin does not particularly care. He had no value of friendship or any of the relationships he has managed to make, while he highly covets the magic tomes and trinkets he collects. Often he can be found huddled in his study, working through complex algorithms and translations for whatever spell or enchantment he is attempting. Though he rarely speaks of such things, there was one dragon that he met on his travels that managed to get a glimpse of the caring side of him, a young spiral who's name he no longer mentions. It is not known exactly what happened to this spiral, but according to Nyrin's vague accounts, the poor creature perished by reasons unknown, sending Nyrin into temporary insanity. While it is common for Nyrin to get annoyed with conversations quickly, if one mentions this even in passing he will not hesitate to chase the offending dragon away. It is this need to keep a wall between himself and the world that links Serezha in Nyrin, though each fear getting close to someone for very different reasons.
