______ Before she woke, she already knew they were gone. She hazily "saw" two forms walk in opposing directions: a willowy woman with dark hair and sturdy man with stylishly cropped rust-colored hair. Mother... Father... Rubbing her eyes as she sat herself up, she realized that she was not the only one as there were three others beside her in varying states of waking. Her sisters.
______ A flash of light caught her eye. In the center of their circle of bodies, a pile of necklaces were neatly arranged. Each had the same titanium chains, but with differing pendants. She picked the first one that seemingly called to her, a pendant made of some sort of claw. It had an odd metallic sheen, yet was lighter than expected. She was not sure how she knew any of this for the information just came to her. Looking to her siblings, she sensed that they all had similar experiences as well.
______ Slipping the necklace over her head and smoothing her dress down, she looked to her sisters. They silently shared a moment and a telepathic thought before she bounded off in the direction that she felt was the way their mother had taken. Determination and boundless questions fueled her in her search, but no matter where she scrambled to, she could not locate the woman she had seen in her mind's eye. She almost cried, tears burning her eyes, but took a deep breath and calmed while gazing up at the night sky. Meandering back to where she and her sister had come to be, she found that they too had left. The only sign that anyone had been there was the grass that had been gently flattened by their forms. Settling in that circle, she sighed and wondered to herself why any parent, especially a mother, would abandon her children. In a whisper more to herself than anyone else, she murmured, "Where could mother had gone?"
______ No sooner than she had said it, wisps of magic flit into life before her. The golden orb vacillated for a moment before darting off curiously. She knew it meant for her to follow and was quick to her feet, dashing right after it. It led her to a tavern in another town, nestled at the foot of mountain trail, before vanishing the same way it had materialized. Peering in through a window, she saw brightly lit stage in dim room within. A figure on the stage moved about elegantly, confidently. Anyone and everyone appeared to be mesmerized by the dancer, who she suddenly realized was her mother. There was such power in her mother's moves and she noticed the mist of power that followed her mother and understood that there was more to her than meets the eye.
______ There did not seem to be any structure to what her mother did on the stage, it was purely entertainment at the visual level, but she could "see" the woven threads that her mother created with each shift in stance and pose, but she could not fathom what the magic would accomplish. At the end of the dance, her mother transitioned into elegant bow that ended with her knelt, purple eyes glittering mischievously. The audience was motionless for a second before bursting to their feet, the clapping and cheering thunderous from outside. (To be continued...)
______ She was an alluring woman with luscious, wavy red hair, ivory skin, and mesmerizing grey-blue eyes. A hourglass figure that was both agile and graceful as she danced. She was a Romani, almost always on the road and dancing to make what funds she needed to get by. There were times when she would wonder what her sisters had chosen to do with their lives, but would push the thought away as she continued to search for her mother.

- Coli Stones:
- Thematic Song: Zedd - Beautiful Now
- Name has its roots in the Slavic element "vadic", which means "to know," and is probably the Romany feminine form of the Russian name Vadim. Pagan magicians were once called veduny, which means "the knowing ones."
- Lore Notes: Birth magic affinity is word-based. At maturity, magical affinity remains word-based (Random.org generated a 11). Through her mother, she gains an innate ability to enhance magic with motion (i.e. dancing, gesturing, etc).
