Biography
soft-spoken and withdrawn, tinnire had a lonesome sort of aura about him while growing up. there were few peers his age in the lair, and tinnire often quietly explored by himself. one day, he discovered the set of many oddly shaped black and white figures tossed in the clan's hoard storage. spurred on by curiosity, he returned many times to examine them, and one day finally asked the clan storyteller, reed, what they were. she told him they were the pieces of a game from a lost age, or so it was rumored. the dragon race had figured the game out, but its rules and lore tended to change from flight to flight. some said each major piece represented a deity, with the original four at the center, and the game reflected the ancient battle that first laid ruin to the land. in her home flight, the lands of plague, the game was a war between the plaguebringer and the gladekeeper. tinnire was enchanted, and started to consider the pieces added to the hoard his own collection. the vague, carved figures became his friends, and he began to ask clan members to play the game with him. finding that games- even ones with vague rules and missing pieces- were a wonderful way to interact with his clanmates, he began to seek out more and more, but is still shy of approaching others to ask them to play. ozone and drift were his first regular opponents, but when glow moved in, followed eventually by shade, tinnire found his best friends. the imp and coatl shared a love for games, and tinnire found that he was clever enough to come up with new things for them to try on a regular basis. his corner of the lair is filled with game pieces and maps and rules scribbled on parchments. for ages, his chess piece collection was missing but one piece; the white queen. finding one became something of a quest for the skydancer, his biggest goal. but it was glow who came across the first white queen while out scavenging, and she took it to gift to him. although they have found several since, that first queen is tinnire's most precious possession, and he wears it on a string around his neck. though tinnire dislikes fighting, he has a strong sense of right and wrong and doesn't let his lack of strength prevent him from giving his best. he has recently taken on aspirations to become a healer, so as to help glow and shade in their adventures. |

tinnire has a sharp mind and is driven by curiosity, and this tends to land him in tough spots that are more than he can handle. however, his familiar is often ready to defend him if his friends aren't at hand. although hatchlings tend to love him for his fun stories and room full of "toys," tinnire himself doesn't have any interest in breeding. children are a handful that he's not sure how to keep tabs on, and he refuses to babysit for anyone but glow and shade. |
