from within the scattered growth of the wispwillow grove, eerie and mysterious sounds thread their way through the trees. low bassy thrums, shrill ghostly whistles, and the knell and tinkling of bells lure curious wanderers to the lair of

the carillon clan.

mismatched caravans are arranged in a wide crescent. they vary as much in size as they do in materials; some are built of bamboo and decorated with feathers and swirls, while others seem built of the very dark and thorny wood of the shady forest. many bear the support of fae amber, and sigils and shop signs decorate the outsides. strung from roof to roof are ropes supporting small clusters of lights and jars of wisps and fireflies. everywhere are clusters of bronze reeds rooted into the ground, and on every corner are groups of bronze bells big and small, and it is from these that the winds carry the strange sounds, sometimes melodious and sometimes discordant.

in the center back of the crescent stands a large lair built on the remains of an ancient structure choked with bramble. here the work of the fae constructors shine; threads of amber form artistic arcs, segments of polished floor glow warmly in the dim light, and columns and coatings on walls support pre-existing structures. sprinkled throughout are bowl shaped reliefs in the amber, where phosphorescent blue fungi nest or jars of wisps cast a glow. here reside the progenitors along with their heirs, now the clan leaders; twin mirrors as contrasting as night and day. this ramshackle palace also hosts the treasury, food stores, nests, and shrines to both windsinger and shadowbinder.

dragons of all breeds mingle at their leisure around the settlement. some caravans are open shops with strange and shadowy wares. dragons juggle and spin strange instruments, while others roll dice and lay cards. some are hunters, others aimless drifters. welcome to carillon, a clan of clouds and ghosts, of performers and artists, of card players and card readers.
