Dark-eyed Junco wonders about death
Her parents aren't troubled, but she is a wreck
Like the passing of a leaf to the ground
She's lost faith, but what's she found?
Tigers and ravens and dreams that disperse
Why doesn't someone just book her a hearse?
If family mattered, they wouldn't just go

A kind of wisdom much younger than most
Influenced by shadows and hurt by the ghosts
"If we're only pixels in the sweet void
Created by meat-bags to be destroyed
Who made the rules that falsely assume
It was only a game, despite certain doom?"

Jun the scavenger now loots the dead
Pondering, still, all the things you said
Licking the blades with the fallen's blood
She bleeds inside as she exhales mud
She no longer needs a place to hide
Why should she when she's dead inside?

"No one even tried to stop them," she muttered as she passed happy dragons who didn't care if their family went to serve their deity forever, essentially dead to the world. Someone had to care, and she took that burden to heart. "This world is rotten. I think it should burn."

Junco's a jaded loner. She grew bitter with the world at an early age and shuns all contact while keeping an eye on the ones she left behind. Her role as guardian over a clan who has almost forgotten her is a lonely one, one that she relishes. It's not that she likes the solitude; she just doesn't believe anyone alive can ever be good company. She instead keeps her social battery charged by communing with ghosts and purposely keeping from helping them fulfill any of their last wishes just so they'll stick around to talk to her. She came to be this way when her siblings left on some dumb quest, her parents broke up, her father left the clan, and eventually her mother left too. She didn't really have anyone left she cared about, so she left too. Calla knows good and well where she is, so she leaves food out for her in the harshest months. It's only through this distance that Junco will allow someone who's still alive to care for her.
