_Childhood_

____Shadow actually grew up happily in a loving home and with gentle parents who neither spoiled him or neglected him and he got plenty of love and attention and encouragement. However, a deep sadness still runs through him that love cannot heal. It's just a part of who he is and how he hatched. He only feels happy when he's slashing his enemies with spells or singing sad songs.

____His journey began one day when he left the nest and was taken in by another clan. Many of his kin from other flights were in that clan, and the kindly fatherly leader welcomed him personally to his new home. However, it was the warrior Luna who took him under her wing and taught him everything he knows today. The only one in the clan and surrounding area that knew the coveted Eliminate spell, Luna was not only the eldest in the clan but the most powerful as well. If she'd wanted to, she could have destroyed anyone to get what she wanted. Instead, she taught Shadow balance in all things to achieve his goals. He was carrying a lot of pain still from the confusion of his new environment and the pressure of living up to his birth father's legacy, but taking down intruders who crossed his new territory gave him an outlet. He barely noticed he was getting stronger until one day Luna declared him ready. She told him his childhood was now over and the real struggle would now begin.
'But first', she said, 'let us celebrate your achievement.'

_what comes next_

____Fade was a full-fledged Night Warrior now, with a new name but the same old attitude. His mentor told him the real trials would start now, but he wasn't sure what she meant by that.
