There's a story behind his smile
One that hides the pain of his past

But his soul is cold and dead inside

Murder, monster, bloodied eaves
He's haunted by the thoughts of his family
Dark night, gold blood, trampled leaves
He still remembers how they screamed

Was it his fault? How did things go wrong?
He could've done something; but what could he have done?
If you're the villain of the story, shouldn't you just die?
But child, every monster still has a heart inside

To the weeping of the night
For if you're as evil as the shadows
You deserve no part of the light

No one would ever care to think
Monsters can have broken hearts

And so he dances in the moonlight
To chase away dreams of the dead
He smiles at the sunlight, as if
There are no nightmares in his head

He dances to the star and moon
Laughs at the words so cruel and vile
He dances to the sun and clouds
With his never changing smile

And there's a story behind that smile
Lost beneath everything he could've had
If you're a monster in both form and soul
