Glace

Glace is a very refined gentleman. He's been serious from a young age, focusing most of his early years on learning how to fly. He was only able to separate his world from the world around him when he noticed another young dragon, Shira, crying at her reflection. He asked her what was wrong and she told him she was terribly ugly and hid her face away. He thought that was absurd and told her so.
They would both realize later that they were both vain in different ways, and that they had a lot more in common than they realized.

One day, Glace flew over to his mate and said "This is our son, now. He looks lonely."
Shira looked over the young dragon. He looked confused to her, but Glace was rarely impulsive like this. "Okay. Welcome to the family, honey. What's your name?" She didn't want to point out that her mate had just brought home a full grown dragon.

Sandstorm knew this was going to be difficult, so he sucked it up and just dove for it. He swooped over to Glace's nest, dropped the yeti in his lap and tried to fly right back off.
"Excuse me, but what is this horrible beast?" Glace asked politely. He had a way of speaking that defied every speck of rudeness, so doing him wrong gave the offender the guiltiest shiver. Sandstorm shuddered as he lighted on the ground and looked up at the gentle giant of a dragon. This dragon was younger than him, Sandstorm told himself, and he had practically raised him. So why was he so intimidating?
"Oh I just figured since everyone else in the clan has a pet now, you might possibly want to join in the fun?"
Glace blinked in confusion, as if trying to imagine a world where what Sandstorm had said made any sense at all.
"I'm sorry, but I don't have any interest in a pet at the moment. I'm about to be a father, you see, and I have Tashir to think about."
Sandstorm wanted to point out that Tashir had a familiar, but he didn't want to ruin the new father's moment. Glace's eyes were getting all sparkly and teary.
"They'll hatch tomorrow, you know. I can feel it...you know, it's always nice talking with you but I should probably go switch places with Tashir so she can go eat."
Sandstorm could have rolled his eyes, since he knew for a fact that Calla would have brought Tashir anything she might need.
"Anyway maybe you'd want to take your new little buddy with you. I'm sure SunStar would love to welcome you to her little gathering. And he might make friends with Tashir's pet, huh?" Sandstorm suggested.
Glace looked down at the yeti, who was busy picking at Glace's tail, and made a face, flicking his tail away from the creature.
"Indeed," was all he said out loud. It was the way he said it, as if the very idea were so laughable and unwise that Sandstorm should feel bad for even suggesting it. And he did. That's why Sandstorm excused himself and flew away before Glace could push the yeti back into his claws.
Mission accomplished.

When it was finally time for the Crystaline Gala, Glace's holiday, he took no time swapping his awful yeti out with the Spirit of Ice, a much more respectable pet for a dragon of his type. But in the end, Sandstorm had still won. Glace had a familiar, after all. It didn't matter who stood at his side so long as someone took care of one of Sandstorm's collection.
