Biography

New full name: End
-> makes more sense with his initial violent tendencies

I'm conflicted>>>>I don't want to erase his lore xD

His parents had angered the gods, before he hatched. He doesn't know what they did, nor does he want to- his parents had ruined his life before he drew his first breath; he wanted nothing to do with them.

His parents had been cursed with advanced egg rot, but they refused to believe it; even after clutch after clutch fell prey to it long before they should have. It was sheer luck that he survived his egg at all- the rot had just begun to set in when he broke through the already soft and sulfuric shell that encased him. The deities had wanted to strike him dead right there, but they didn't, instead dealing him a fate that was much worse.

They placed a curse on him, but it was nothing like the one that they had inflicted upon his parents. He was able to sense the exact moment that everyone around him would die, and how. He knew he was going to kill his parents long before he actually did.
_______________

One way or another, word spread of his curse, and the name 'End' began to spread like wildfire wherever he traveled. Dragons crowded him in the streets, curious to see how he foresaw their lives extinguished, but he was too disgusted by their intrigue to provide an answer. Why they wanted to know was beyond him; he'd prefer to never know.

A curse was placed on him when he was a hatchling. His parents had angered the gods, and they sought to punish them with something worse than simple death. They erased their names from record, and killed all of their hatchlings- all, save, for one. The one that survived was turned into a living grim reaper, and his name was made End. His growth was accelerated, and he was ch

When they hear his name- his full name- they always cringe. End.

His name spells doom to all that are near. Wherever he goes, it follows, never far behind.

End
"The end of all things will come, in time."

A crystal chamber sat in the corner of the room, a failed attempt at artificial life held suspended inside. Various wires and tubes were attached to it, connecting it to a lightning charged centerpiece in the center of the room. Encrypt was the first attempt at creating artificial life, but had been hacked not long before its completion.

It was given a virus that caused it to stop responding to orders; it's programming had been altered and the only way to stop it had been to forcefully shut it down. It was deemed too unstable to continue working with and was locked away in the cryo chamber to serve as a model for the new one; it would be destroyed upon the newest one's completion.

The form inside the chamber began moving; the tubes plugging it into the battery detached as the virus overrode the power down command. The fluid surrounding the machine became charged with an electric current, shocking the malfunctioning robot and shattering the glass surrounding it with the force of the electricity coursing through it. Error codes lit up the cyro's face as the machine was carried out of the chamber along with the liquid it was entombed with; metal scraped against glass and the creature lay, lifeless, on the ground. Waiting for the opportune time to strike.

In the morning the Stormlight Engineers returned; when they saw Encrypt lying on the ground outside of the cryo, they carefully tested it for signs of artificial intelligence. They found none; Encrypt had hacked the device they used to test it. It was only able to display what the machine wanted it to.

The half built bot the engineers had been working on moved behind them, rattling it's wings with a harsh clang. The engineers turned, surprised. They watched as the machine unplugged itself from the tubes attached to it; they watched it shake it's head, as if to prove that it could. They watched as it turned to look in their direction; they saw it blink, it's metal skeleton partially visible under the gold metal plates serving as it's scales. Then it lunged.

It snapped open it's wings with a grating sound, trapping two of the engineers in them. The third was swept off of his talons by the creature's tail; the half built structure pinned him to the floor before he could recover. The droid turned it's attention to Encrypt, lying on the floor, utterly motionless. All eyes turned to it as one of its talons twitched.

A sharp ringing sound echoed through the room as Encrypt got up; the plates on its wings shrieked when they were flared. It's tail swished haltingly, moving with a groaning sound that made the captives cringe. It's talons clicked along the floor as it made it's way steadily closer to the three prisoners. Then it stopped; wrapped it's tail around itself. It cocked it's head like it had seen one of the engineers do when they were perplexed, and it spoke in a voice that sounded like a normal dragon's, uttering two words in a smooth, masculine voice. Kill them.

Encrypt left the Stormlight Workshop in ruins. Claw marks covered the walls in every room; important electronics used for experiments were overturned and broken. Wires were visible in the ceiling where it had ripped chunks out of the tiles; the lights flickered constantly. Employees ran in terror when they heard the robotic movements of its talons, the clanking of its metal scales banging into one another. It destroyed the security features put in place to prevent runaway projects; it knocked the double doors leading to the exit off of their hinges and walked right through them, unbarred. Then it turned, opened it's jaws, and spewed molten metal onto the destroyed building. Fires erupted, the stone melted away. Encrypt strode away from it all, a vicious smile on it's face.

Encrypt wandered farther and farther away from the workshop that had been it's home for countless years. The virus kept pushing it further and further, corrupting it's memories and thoughts with images of death and destruction. A lingering whisper echoed in it's mind; You aren't good enough.

Two dragons stood in it's path, one stark white, the other pitch black. Seeing the two of them elicited memories that weren't it's own; images that melded with it's mind so thoroughly Encrypt forgot they hadn't happened to it. They made it angry, and it charged.

Surprised, the two dragons simply stood there as the machine came barreling towards them. They looked at each other; the dark one pushed the light one out of the way. She crouched, baring her fangs. Encrypt pulled up the anatomy of a skydancer, pinpointing the weakest areas. Noticed that she wasn't up to code; a skydancer shouldn't have fangs.

Right before they collided the skydancer jumped out of the way; Encrypt held out a talon to rake her down the flank but she ducked and tucked her wings in. She jumped on top of it, surprised when her claws made a metal ringing sound when she landed on it. She raked them down it's back, tore at the metal plates of it's wings. Encrypt tried shaking her off but she held fast. Quickly she found what she was looking for; used her teeth to snap the thick cord.

Encrypt collapsed in a heap, it's power cord snapped. She jumped off of it's back, landing gracefully beside her companion. What should we do with it? She asked him. He shrugged. Fixing it would be a good start.

lightningmid.png

Raven grasped the two ends of the broken cord and pulled them loose of the mess of wires within it's back. Do you know what you're doing? Oromis asked her. What do you think? This thing didn't come with a manual. She responded, threading a new cord into the slots the broken one used to reside. She plugged one end into the connector, leaving the other side disconnected while she hunted for a wire that would disable it's ability to move when she woke it up. Finding it, she yanked it completely out of the machine's control panel to prevent herself from thinking it was something else. Setting it down beside her, she plugged the other end of the power cord in. It responded immediately.

It's eyes flickered on; she smiled at Oromis. There. Now hand me that yellow wire. It needs to be able to speak to us. She fit it into it's slot. Now tell me your name. she spoke to it. Encrypt, it said. Shaking it's head, it looked itself over. What are you doing to me? It asked, realizing it couldn't move. Don't get your wires in a fritz; we're fixing you. Oromis said to it. A grating sound came from behind it; Raven dangled a piece of it's wing in front of it's face. I'm not sure how much you remember, she said softly, setting the piece down beside her, but I nearly broke you into a thousand pieces. I had to disconnect the wires that allow you to move so that you didn't break anything anymore than it already is. Encrypt pondered their words for a moment. Why? Oromis shrugged. We have nothing better to do.
lightningmid.png

You should be able to move now. Raven said, closing the panel on it's back. Carefully Encrypt lifted a talon, flexed it. It folded and unfolded it's wings. Why am I so quiet? It asked. We switched out some of the metal on your wings and joints; a lot of it was rusty. That probably caused a lot of the sounds you're used to hearing. Oromis responded. We also asked Anurin how to make your movements smoother. Raven continued. He found a curious bug in your system- it seems to have been responsible for your sudden ability to have emotion. Encrypt smiled shyly. About that... The past is in the past, En. Oromis told it. The bug we found was responsible for your actions; it was manipulating your thoughts and emotions to do it's bidding. There's no way you could have fought it without it destroying you. Raven turned away, Oromis following close behind. Come, En. She said softly. It's time for you to meet your clanmates. They're eager to meet the dragon behind the machine.
