It is necessary, at times, to leave certain things behind for one's own sake. Things that are loved, or that provide love. Things significant in one's life. People significant in one's life. I have had to do this.

I am not ashamed of what I came from, and I am not ashamed of what I did. I'm glad I did it, because if I had never left the Wyrmwound, I would never have found darling Porphy. I was among the first of the Grove to meet him, and we connected almost instantly. We understand one another, innately. We talk through touch and sign, and speak through soft trills and beastly noises that belong to no language.

We frequently take journeys to the Scarred Wasteland, occasionaly with some of the Serthis cult in tow. We are led on these journeys by Phorphy, who feels a regular call to the place. I know the legends of coatl feeling drawn to the Hearth - but this is not the hearth, and yet it is often where we go to breed. I am happy to oblige him.

Now that Diops is piecing together the Serthis language, I am trying to learn it. It's a struggle for me - my maw doesn't move the way a coatl's can, or even a spiral's - and Diops struggles enough. Porphy and I still communicate better in our old way, and maybe we always will, but if I can find any way to more clearly talk to him, learn about him, express to him just how important he is to me, I must try.

I know that he is as fond of me as I am of him, and that's all I need.
